I utilize the Karuna Healing method for sex addiction treatment. A short-term approach for managing triggers and negative emotions, based in mindfulness, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and CBT. And a long-term approach aimed at healing addiction polarity, trauma and attachment insecurity through IFS (Internal Family Systems) and EMDR.
My therapeutic philosophy is informed by Attachment Theory. The more secure we are in our attachment, the easier it is to align our behaviors with our values. Healing attachment security is one of the primary goals of therapy. We go about that in many different angles: through IFS, mindfulness, trauma processing, EMDR, Ideal Parent Figure Protocol, etc.
