I believe we are all born with everything we need to thrive, then life slaps us in the face in an abundance of ways from a variety of directions and we adjust our beliefs and behaviors in order to simply survive. If you are here looking for a therapist, it is likely you are not satisfied with how you have adjusted to life’s various assaults. My approach to therapy is more direct, utilizes humor, and is founded in cognitive behavioral theory with a strengths based perspective. I enjoy working with clients who are motivated for something different and willing to do the hard work to get it.

Therapy is an incredibly useful tool that helps with a range of issues, from anxiety to sleep to trauma to relationships. With a therapist’s support, you can understand why difficult things happen to you. If you have talked to friends and family about how you’re feeling, you realize that they tell you to do XYZ and that will surely fix it! But life is a struggle. Therapy allows you an hour a week to focus on yourself. It can help you thrive in your career, make a good marriage great, help you be a fantastic parent, and make your purpose in life a little clearer. Therapy can teach you coping skills: efforts to minimize stress.

I think that each client is different, and that no one size fits all. I think it's important for a client and therapist to work toward the goals that are most important to the client.

You are self-aware, self-reflective and have done a lot of your own work already, yet find yourself falling into the same overwhelming or depressive patterns. Therapy can address the deeper patterns we often learn in childhood and release old unfulfilling patterns making way for a more authentic way of life in the here and now. What makes you come alive? What's still holding you back? I am interested in getting to know you, your unique history, struggles and strengths and supporting you in becoming a more joyful and dynamic version of yourself.

We all have issues at some point in our life, and sometimes we need someone free of judgment to support and guide us through the healing process.
Hello! Do you feel trapped in your own thoughts and cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel? Do you feel stuck, anxious, or depressed? If yes, maybe you are one of those individuals who have formed maladaptive patterns of thinking that are not helping you to obtain the results you want, or perhaps you suffered from a traumatic experience that is temporarily affecting the way you think and interact with others. If your goal is to increase your level of awareness and have more control over your life, then working together will give you the tools you need to live a more joyful and balanced life.

I often hear my clients say, “I wish I had started therapy sooner!” That doesn’t have to be you. Is therapy hard at times? Absolutely! It’s also an extremely rewarding personal growth opportunity that many define as “Life-Changing.” For over a decade, I’ve helped clients thrive personally & professionally as they learn to heal/manage: 1) Mental Health 2) Self-Confidence 3) Imposter Syndrome and 4) Relationships. Through experience gained in the US & abroad, I’ve developed a therapeutic style described as empowering, collaborative & interactive. I truly believe each client is HUMAN, & not their symptoms, life stressors, or illness.

I offer telehealth, in-person sessions, professional trainings, and community events. Some sessions are held outdoors, a unique setting for awareness and growth. A six-session life coaching package, ideal for those experiencing burnout or other specific issues, is available. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Approved Clinical Supervisor, I have experience working with teenagers, adults, and families. My work as Director of Behavioral Health and Wellness informs my interest in staff trainings, believing that organizations are only as healthy as the people that work there.

When life becomes more of a mystery to embrace than a series of problems to solve, a shift or crack occurs in our perspective. This crack allows the light and miracle of peace and intimacy to gently blossom. Leaning into mystery and discovering intimacy has been at the core of both my personal and professional journey. Of course, life is always going to be a series of problems to solve. That’s the content of our lives. But when mystery is the lens or context from which these problems are viewed, the problems look and feel differently. We start noticing options. Transformation becomes accessible.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
