I am very person-centered in my therapeutic approach. My goal is to meet each client where they are in their life journey and to utilize my education, knowledge and experience to assist each client with reaching their desired goals. I have a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling, as well as a master’s degree in addiction counseling, and have worked with clients with dual diagnoses. I spent 15 years working with adolescents in a residential setting; 6 of those years being the Director of Clinical Services. I have always had a passion for working with children and adolescents.

I have worked as a mental health therapist with children, teenagers, adults and older adults in an Integrated behavioral health setting and a community mental health setting treating a variety of mental health disorders. I have experience working with mood disorders such as bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, psychosis, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, PTSD and BPD. I am also skilled at addressing symptoms related to grief and loss, relationship issues, codependency, adjustment disorders and issues specific to the LGBTQ population.

I use a variety of evidence-based practices that I have been trained in, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, all from a trauma informed perspective, to address behavioral, cognitive, and emotional issues in a collaborative way to best meet each client’s needs. I specialize in treating trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, and anxiety, with the intention of helping clients find healing and emotional well-being.

My main focus is to meet clients where they are at and to work alongside them to accomplish their goals. Offering insight from both lived and professional experiences, I am able to tailor treatment to unique to each client. I have been a social worker for the past 8 years working with clients in a variety of roles including case management, crisis intervention, and therapy.

I am a Certified Social Worker (CSW) in Kentucky who specializes in trauma therapy, addiction, anxiety, and PTSD. I have experience working with adults and adolescents struggling with a variety of personality and mental health disorders. I previously worked for the VA where I found a passion for working with Veterans. I have been working in addiction counseling for the past couple of years providing services for sober living homes around Kentucky. I have had my own struggles which has placed me where I am today, and I absolutely love being a therapist and being able to help people toward their journal to healing.

THE bravest thing we can ever do is ask for help. It can be hard scrolling through here, trying to find someone who may be a good fit for you. I've felt that, too (so have my clients). Family Village Counseling Center is a telehealth only mental health agency. We have multiple therapists with many years experience, offering services children, teens, families, adults and couples.
