I’m a licensed psychologist originally from West Virginia, now rooted in Louisville. I earned my MA and PsyD from Spalding University, specializing in general and health psychology across the lifespan. My passion for reducing mental health stigma and health disparities has grown throughout my work, and I prioritize building trust and a strong therapeutic relationship, using cognitive behavioral therapy, interpersonal therapy, ACT and DBT-informed skills to support change. Seeing the people I work with grow and improve their quality of life fuels my passion for care and reinforces my belief in the resilience of the human spirit.

I work best with individuals who are ready to understand themselves more deeply and make meaningful changes in their lives. My ideal clients are people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected and want support in building stability, confidence, and healthier patterns. Many of the people I work with are navigating life transitions, stress, relationship challenges, or the impact of past experiences and want a space where they can feel heard, supported, and guided. I’m a good fit for clients who appreciate a direct but compassionate approach.

Life has thrown so much at you, and you feel like you can't keep up. One minute you’re fine, but the next, you’re freaking out in the bathroom, trying to get it together. Maybe you don't quite recognize yourself anymore; your perspective is shifting against your will. Life feels heavier than it used to. This isn’t working anymore, but you don’t know what to do. There’s a reason something in you is responding this way. I believe positive-talking your way through without acknowledging the reality of how hard this is would be a disservice to your lived experience, and it would ultimately band-aid and prolong the process.

When clients come to me, I draw from both my background. I know that healing and transformation can happen in spaces where you feel seen, heard, and comfortable enough to be yourself. My approach integrates evidence-based practices like CBT, DBT, culturally appropriate somatic therapies, and solution- focused strategies, but it’s all infused with the relational and intuitive skills I developed during my hairstyling years.

Though you may be reluctant, you’ve noticed a pattern in your life of a lack of fulfillment in your relationships. You have wondered about why this might be, you have tried to look inward, to get advice... for some reason, it seems that you've not been able to get at the root of the issue. You find that this has led to feelings of unrest in your life. During the best times, you're able to focus on your other accomplishments, but have a nagging insecurity about not being able to conquer intimacy. At the worst of times, you feel despair, fear abandonment and have anxious thoughts that feel uncontrollable.

I am a trauma-informed neurodivergent specialist, and I also specialize in codependency, grief, and self-confidence issues, including addressing fear-based thinking.
Today’s world is overwhelming—full of stress, fear, judgment, and constant pressure to fit in. Anxiety and depression grip us as we face nonstop demands, deadlines, and sensory overload. This isn’t the life we hoped for, our brains weren't wired for this, and most of us never learned the skills to navigate it effectively. Our nervous systems struggle to keep up, often leading to overstimulation, burnout, meltdowns, or re-triggered trauma. What we want is relief, peace, joy, autonomy, and the freedom to live authentically—with acceptance, validation, and empowerment. We want to feel safe. We want to thrive, not just survive.

Professional counseling is part science and part skill. I use knowledge and knack to understand the exact pattern of your symptoms which leads to an exact diagnosis. Once an exact diagnosis is established, then I introduce you to evidenced based interventions which are accepted as the current professional standard of care for the diagnosis. the established interventions are intended to lessen unwanted symptoms and thereby, assist you in addressing the presenting problems stemming from the underlying symptoms.

If you’re a woman, you get what it’s like to feel overwhelmed and burned out. If you’re queer, you know how it feels to be given a crumb and told to be grateful. (If you’re both: girl, call me, we’re gonna be a great fit.) It’s confusing to know something’s not the way it could be, should be, when most things in your life are pretty good. There’s rarely a crisis, but you’re familiar with feeling rundown, spread thin, and questioning if this is really “just the way it is”. If you want talk through what’s keeping you from the “more” you’re seeking, with someone who understands the impact of the world on people like us, let's chat.

What therapy types help with codependency problems?
Both couples and family therapy and cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) can help with the relationship difficulties referred to as codependency. Such problems typically include inappropriate feelings of responsibility for a loved one’s destructive behavior, irrational patterns of thinking about such behavior, and family interaction patterns in which the needs of one troubled member override the needs of others in a household.

What happens in therapy for codependency?
Spouses and family members learn and practice how to interact and support each other in a healthy way without sacrificing their own needs or well-being. They learn the limits of their responsibility for their loved ones and correct faulty patterns of thinking and feeling that underlie codependent behavior. Individuals may be encouraged to nurture an array of social relationships and to cultivate their own talents and interests so that they develop a healthy sense of self outside the family.

How does therapy help a person or couple overcome codependency?
Therapy helps people establish healthy ways of being in a relationship. Spouses and family members learn how to nurture and support one another without sacrificing their own needs or allowing the needs of one person to dominate the dynamic. Individuals learn how to say no and set boundaries, and how to maintain their own identity and self-esteem. Therapy helps people understand that they are not responsible for the feelings and actions of others. It also helps individuals deal with the turbulence that can come from living with a person suffering from such conditions as substance abuse and mental illness.

What is the goal of therapy for codependency?
One goal of therapy for codependency is to alleviate feelings of responsibility for and correct irrational patterns of thinking about loved ones whose behavioral problems override the needs of others in a household. Therapy helps people establish healthy boundaries of behavior and speak up for their own needs in a relationship. In addition, people learn how to maintain a healthy relationship, one in which both parties give and receive equally and are able to retain their own identity.
