Cerebral palsy and a lifetime as a wheelchair user has given me unique insight into chronic illness, anxiety, and feeling “othered” by society. You aren’t broken and you certainly don’t have to feel like a passive participant in your own life. Rock bottom often provides the most fertile soil for positive growth. I love the “oddballs”, the “weirdos”, the “square peg in a round hole” type folks. I work with adults and teens though trauma and related disorders, grief and bereavement, identity issues, and of course, disability and chronic illness. Taking a nod from Lao Tzu, simplicity patience, and compassion are my core values.
Look, I get it, that feeling of just knowing that everyone else has it all figured out and you’re just missing the script. I know that hopeless cycle of thinking you will never be good enough.
