My approach to therapy is informed by a combination of Narrative Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I believe that every individual has a unique story and that therapy can help them identify and change negative patterns of thinking and behavior.

In doing so, I am passionate about helping young children, teens, adults and couples who have experienced trauma, life-changing disorders and family complications. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor/National Certified Counselor that has worked in the field of mental health for 20 years. As a therapist, I have been able to work with adults in inpatient substance abuse, to teenagers in residential group homes, to community mental health, and to school-based mental health services. I have been so fortunate to have had these opportunities and now dedicate my time in my private practice at Cherry Lane Counseling.

As an Integrative Therapist, she offers a variety of therapeutic techniques designed to meet each client's needs. Angie's theoretical framework is a compilation of cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, Mindfulness, DBT and more. Angie has received training in treating eating disorders, trauma, a broad scope of mental health and addiction disorders and enjoys working with families, individuals, couples, and adolescents.

I am trained in EMDR, certified in Multi Dimensional Partner Trauma through APSATS, and have completed over 100 hours of training in the Minwalla Model. I also have completed training in Early Recovery Couples Empathy Model.

I hold a master degree in Clinical Counseling. I also have training within the area of: Play Therapy Strategies and Techniques in working with children. I use a variety of play therapy interventions and differing theoretical orientations in my approach to helping clients. I do however, specialize in trauma informed care. I am EMDR trained and believe in meeting people where they are, providing unconditional positive regard and finding congruence within each story. I have experience working with depression, addiction, anxiety, couples, family systems, children and much more.

I specialize in trauma and post-traumatic stress. In my practice, I create a safe environment to explore past wounds, process current obstacles and find meaning and purpose for the future. I believe, based on a comprehensive review of applicable research and witnessing transformation in my clients, trauma can be healed.
