My work is to provide an empathic, nonjudgmental atmosphere for you to work through your discomfort and create a healing experience. I hold the belief that we are all resilient and have the internal capacity to heal ourselves. An essential element in this effort is the development of a trusting relationship between client and therapist.

Andrea Marie Zavitz is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with 16 years of experience in the mental health field including 11 as a counselor. Andrea completed her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Human Services and her Master of Science (MS) in Professional Counseling at Southeastern University and Troy University. Andrea is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Youth Mental Health First Aid Instructor who has training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR), feeling state addiction protocol, trauma attachment protocol, crisis stabilization protocol, and suicide and threat assessment.

Helpful therapists empower individuals to access their own inner emotional and spiritual wisdom, courage, strength and innate capacity for healing. Often this process must go deep to resolve hidden pain that has resurfaced in the form of symptoms.

Rachel is an LPC with experience in hypnotherapy, neurofeedback, individual, and family therapy settings. Rachel has also worked extensively with high-risk children and adolescents and their families, providing life skills and stability for the family unit. She uses a holistic approach and enjoys working with clients who are facing anxiety, depression, identity crises, issues of faith, and more. Rachel is a graduate of Regent University with a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and holds a certificate in ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency) Trauma Treatment for Children and Adolescents.

I like to make a plan collaboratively with my client to help identify their goals and deepen their understanding of themselves. I am experienced working with a variety of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have experience with pre and post operative weight loss surgery topics. I have had LGBTQ+ ally training.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 18 years of clinical experience. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health Psychology in 2002 and a Master’s degree in Community/Clinical Psychology from Norfolk State University in 2005. Prior to joining Family Guidance Centers, I spent several years working in public schools, mental health centers, and spent time in the US Army as a Branch Manager. I work with adults, families, and adolescents. My primary areas of specialty include treating culturally diverse patients, depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions/adjustment, sexual abuse, and serious mental illness.

My ideal client is someone who is open to the transformation process in therapy. I have treated patients from ages 18-80 with varying diagnoses. They range from mentally-ill to severely mentally-ill, and often suffer with co-morbidities. It is important to remember that you have everything you need inside of you to heal.

Life challenges have a way of interfering with our daily lives. I believe that the challenges come to help us re-examine our lives and discover ways to overcome difficulties and live life to the fullest. My focus as a Therapist/Resident is to serve the needs of others by using my theoretical approaches, 20 years working with individuals, families and children, and spiritual based framework. Through my training and experience, I recognize the need to create a safe place to explore life struggles, change negative behaviors and thoughts, rebuild relationships, and practice new skill building techniques through therapy.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). I graduated with my Master’s Degree from Liberty University in 2016 after honorably serving in the US Army for 20 years. I have seen the impact that deployments and life in general can have on our military community and look forward to helping those individuals, couples and families find healing. I'm particularly energized with working with premarital and married couples in helping them by providing important tools they can use to improve and or restore their relationships.
