I use talk, cognitive techniques, support, a positive attitude, emotional reframing, physical awareness, mindfulness, homework, articles that pertain to your issues, and referrals.
People want to be understood. Everyone wants to feel good yet each day our moods change as life’s circumstances intrude. Many times, the trauma we have experienced or our negative self-talk work to prevent us from good decisions. You may be considering counseling because you want to change something about yourself. For most people this kind of change can be hard work. To change yourself, it is helpful to understand how your thoughts, emotions and actions all interact to make up who you are. Real, lasting change is the result of a bunch of small changes that require a shift in thoughts and beliefs.

I work with adult clients struggling with anxiety and relationship challenges, and I am particularly passionate about supporting moms through pregnancy and beyond. I offer Telehealth therapy to clients throughout CA, and in-person therapy to clients in the Sacramento Area.

I practice research supported therapies and often draw from humanistic, cognitive behavioral and mindfulness based techniques.
I work with adults and couples using a relational approach that emphasizes connection: being seen, heard, and valued for who you are and where you are in your journey. My goal is to create a welcoming, nurturing, non-judgmental space where you feel safe to share your needs and explore the factors and patterns that may be impacting your quality of life. As an immigrant, I am particularly sensitive to the many ways different people show vulnerability, and strive to take multicultural, interpersonal, and contextual factors into account in order to get to know the multiple identities forming our whole selves.

I draw heavily from Cognitive Behavioral Theory and use Strengths-Based and Solution-Focused approaches in defining not only the problem as you see it, but the influences that created and maintained it.
Therapy sometimes feels intimidating and it might be hard to know where to start. I take a collaborative approach with clients to understand what led to the appointment, what kind of change they would like to see, and what barriers are preventing it. Therapy is a process of finding clarity and adjusting behaviors so that actions and values are aligned. What might sound simple, is rarely easy, and often there may be practical, societal, systemic, legal or cultural barriers that compound the difficulty. Whether goals are emotional, behavioral, relational or health-related, we will find a path forward.
