I am an experienced Social Worker. I have worked for several years with children, youth and families. I provide therapy that is culturally sensitive because I recognize that people from different backgrounds have different values, practices, and beliefs, and I am sensitive to those differences. I also try to understand and accept each client in order to create a treatment plan that is appropriate to meet their unique needs. As your therapist, I will provide you with a safe, judgement free space where you can share your story, learn more about yourself, achieve your goals and improve your health. I will also teach you skills to address symptoms on your own, which will last after therapy ends. If you will do the work, therapy can be rewarding. I offer online therapy through a secure platform or therapy by phone. Online therapy is not only a great option for those who are unwilling or unable to leave the safety of home, but it’s also a splendid solution for those juggling multiple responsibilities, such as parenting, teaching and remote work. If you want to get your life back on track, take the first step and call or email to get the help you need.

Hello. I’m Jane and I help adults and couples find better ways to see forward. Do you ever feel stuck in your life? You know forward is the way to go, but you just can’t seem to get there. You've tried. A lot of things. Yet, you just can’t seem to feel better. With your partner, you can’t seem to communicate anymore. You’ve begun to resent each other. Neither of you wants to live this way, but neither of you knows how to get out of this box you both feel stuck in. How would you like to feel like an improved version of yourself? Thriving, making progress, even flourishing.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In Canada, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or province where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
How much does therapy cost?
Some forms of mental health treatment (for example, seeing a psychiatrist, or seeing a psychologist in a government-funded hospital) are free under provincial health plans. Canadians who seek private counseling can typically expect to pay an average of $150 per session, although the actual price generally ranges between $100 and $3200 per session, depending on their location and the type of provider they select. Workplace benefits or private insurance plans often provide an annual counselling allowance, and some therapists offer sliding scale fees to clients who cannot pay full price.
