Deepa Kansra, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Law at the Human Rights Studies Programme, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, India. With teaching experience of over 12 years, she has taught students from law and other disciplines at undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. levels. She writes extensively on developments in human rights law, particularly issues concerning well-being, vulnerability, violence, conflict, and justice, and has publications in journals of national and international repute.

She was awarded "Outstanding Woman Researcher in Law" at the 6th Venus International Women Awards (VIWA) in 2021 by the Venus International Foundation, Chennai, India.
