You’re the one people count on—the dependable mom, the first responder, the strong one in the family, the high achiever, the problem solver. From the outside, it looks like you’ve got it all together. But inside, you might feel exhausted, anxious, burned out, or unsure of who you are beyond the roles you’ve taken on. Maybe you’re wrestling with perfectionism, self-doubt, ADHD, or work and school stress. Maybe you feel stuck in patterns of over-functioning, people-pleasing, or procrastination. And sometimes, you find yourself asking, “When do I get to exhale?”

Life’s biggest struggles often come from feeling disconnected; from yourself, others, or from a sense of meaning. In my work, I help people explore the fears, patterns, and childhood trauma that shaped their lives. Whether you’re carrying the weight of past trauma, wrestling with difficult relationships, or seeking for clarity in who you are, therapy is a space to make sense of it all. This work isn’t about quick fixes—it’s about deep understanding, self-acceptance, and building a life that feels genuine and fulfilling. J'offre des rendez-vous de jour et de soir, en présentiel ou en ligne, en français et en anglais.

Most of the people who come to see me are working with issues of the heart. They are often troubled by past/present relationships, by how they have been cut off from their sense of purpose, or by situations at work and home that are difficult to bear. Most long to heal their wounded hearts.
I have spent over 35 years working with psychology and spirituality to help people find emotional and psychological healing and growth. I have a deep trust in each person's innate wisdom as they seek to find their way on their path in life. I work to listen deeply to where my clients are at, so they can hear themselves and heal and grow.

Motherhood isn’t what you expected, at least, not all of it. Between the sleepless nights, the hormone rollercoaster, and the pressure to “enjoy every moment,” you’re feeling overwhelmed. Maybe you’re tearful, irritable, anxious, or like you’re barely holding it together. You might not recognize yourself anymore. Whether you're pregnant or postpartum, you’re craving space to breathe, vent, and actually feel okay again.

Losing a beloved pet can feel devastating and isolating. The bond you shared was unique, and its absence may leave you struggling with grief that others don’t always understand. You may feel sadness, guilt, or even question your identity without your companion by your side. For some, being around animals can also bring up fear or anxiety, making it difficult to feel comfortable in everyday situations. Whether you’re coping with pet loss or navigating fears about animals, I provide a safe, supportive space where your feelings are validated and your healing journey is honored.

My first speciality was anxiety: I help clients find balance between our need for control and our need for acceptance. I try to teach people to notice and change their own thinking. I work with all queer and non-binary identities. More recently I have learned a lot about neuro-diversity (ADHD, Autism, Giftedness, highly-sensitive, high-intelligence, high-emotionality), trauma and grief (big and scary and also the very normal and common kinds). and have been able to help many people who struggle with these. I work with many different kinds of relationship issues, including abuse, sexuality and kink, non-monogamy, and loneliness.

Helpers, healthcare workers, teachers, social workers and caregivers in general are some of the most compassionate and dedicated people I know. They are so dedicated to the folks they support they often don't realize the effect it has on their own emotional health and well-being. Working the front lines of social services for 20 years, I witnessed the impacts of workplace stress, vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue and full body and emotional burnout that can come from this unique work.

Are you smart, driven, career-focused - and quietly falling apart? On the outside, you seem fine. On the inside, your mind races like a browser with 30 tabs open. You replay conversations, dread your to-do list, and never feel caught up. No matter how much praise you get, it doesn’t land. Your inner critic is loud, and everything feels heavy—like life isn’t fun anymore. You wonder if it’s ADHD, depression, burnout... You’ve tried the books, the walks, the journaling. You tell yourself to “love yourself,” but it feels like a vague idea, not something real. You’re tired of holding it all together and ready to actually feel okay.

I work with individuals and couples who are stuck in the same arguments, distant from each other, and looking to find their path to happiness again. This distance can leave you wondering how two people who loved each other so much end up feeling worlds apart.
It’s not a lack of love that brings you here, it’s being trapped in a painful cycle that leaves you feeling alone. Beneath the arguments or the silence, there is usually something more vulnerable—the fear of not being heard, not being valued, or not being chosen.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
Most Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are certified by one of the main professional associations, mainly the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA), and will have a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) designation with their name. Social Workers listed in the directory must be registered members of the college specific to their province. To be listed in the directory, Psychologists must be registered with the psychological college specific to their province or territory.
Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given the considerable variation in professional regulation and prerequisites across Canadian provinces, some providers may possess significant professional qualifications without necessarily holding professional memberships or being obliged to acquire them. As a result, they may be selectively included without the "Verified" seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?
Psychologists, counsellors, psychotherapists and social workers can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and supervised, practical experience that enable them to do so in Canada.
Psychologists have a master's and/or doctoral degree and have passed both written and oral exams. Psychologists are able to complete mental health assessments and provide diagnostic information to clients as well as provide counselling therapy or psychotherapy. Counsellors and psychotherapists are expected to have a master's or doctoral degree in counselling psychology, social work, or a related mental health discipline and certification by a professional association, such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. Registered Social Workers possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work and where possible must be licensed or certified by the provincial government and/or regulatory college.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, the cost of a therapy session in Canada could be between $100 and $200. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. Some types of outpatient mental health services are covered by Medicare, provided these are performed by a licensed mental health professional in the provinces or territory you reside in and who accepts the assignment.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postal code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Professionals licensed by regulatory colleges and those certified by associations such as the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association are obligated to uphold client confidentiality unless there is a legal reason that requires them to disclose information. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there is the potential or known harm to the client or others, or a court order, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
