Ariel Gore is an award-winning journalist and editor and the author nine books of fiction and nonfiction. The topics of her work include women and happiness, creativity, the politics of parenting, caregiving, feminism and queer culture, and narcissistic mothers. She publishes the American Alternative Press Award-winning magazine Hip Mama and edited Portland Queer, which won a 2011 LAMBDA Literary Award. Her memoir, The End of Eve (Hawthorne Books), has been described as "Terms of Endearment meets Whatever Happened to Baby Jane." Tom Spanbauer calls it "an act of poetry damn close to sublime." Her most recent books are We Were Witches, a surrealist memoir published by The Feminist Press, and Hexing the Patriarchy, a book of spells for the magical resistance published by Seal Press.
