I am a bilingual (English-Spanish) Resident in Counseling passionate about working with individuals, couples, children and adolescents as well families. I have over 11 years of experience working with at-risk populations in different settings e.g. In-home counseling, residential treatment facilities, school system and private practice. As part of my work experience, I have provided services to populations of different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Also, I have facilitated preventative programs to strengthen family and couples’ relationships.

Marie Aleman is a Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about integrating psychology and Catholic-Christian anthropology in order to restore hope and healing to suffering individuals. Marie uses a combination of emotionally-focused, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and interpersonal techniques in order to meet the particular needs of each client. Mrs. Alemán’s therapy is informed by her Christian faith, her educational training, and her personal experience as a wife and mother. Marie works to heal clients through individual, parent-child, family, or couple counseling formats.

I enjoy working with adults, teens and children but especially enjoy helping parents of young children exhibiting behavioral problems. When children misbehave they are trying to communicate their needs in an ineffective way. My psychodynamic training helps inform my ability to determine what’s really going on with children as well as adults. The psychotherapy I provide is conducted in a very compassionate and non-judgmental way. When people struggle they need to be heard - I’m a great listener but am adept at reading between the lines. I help bring to conscious awareness many underlying issues residing in the unconscious.

Dr. Williams earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Texas Tech University, with a neuropsychology internship at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center and 2-year neuropsychology fellowship at UVA Health System in Charlottesville. His training is in accord with the Houston Conference Guidelines on Specialty Education and Training in Clinical Neuropsychology. He has received supervision and tutelage from, among others, Dr. Jeffrey Barth, Ph.D., ABPP-Cn, a well-respected figure in the area of traumatic brain injury/concussion. Dr. Williams has worked in a multitude of clinical settings including academic hospitals/health science centers, a rehabilitation hospital, a concussion clinic, the VA system, inpatient psychiatric facilities, a psychology department clinic, a student counseling center, and private practice.
