Persons seek therapy when they experience stress, conflict, or loss that cause unhappiness and reduce effectiveness. They are affected negatively by pressure and problems at work, family, and relationships. Individuals come into therapy with their own particular needs shaped by disappointments and failures in some aspect of living in their world. With my guidance, together we create a treatment program which addresses their specific concerns. My approach is interpersonal, supportive and direct. I focus on helping my clients obtain relief from emotional distress and develop strength and awareness to deal successfully with events that confront them day to day.

Depression, anxiety, and low self esteem can make everyday life feel heavy and hard to move through. You may be stuck in relentless overthinking, exhausted by family expectations or conflicts, caught in perfectionism or struggles with control, or carrying the weight of generational trauma, divorce, or language barriers. Reaching out is a brave step, therapy can help you find clearer days. These struggles often overlap, with worry deepening low mood and low self‑worth making connection feel unsafe. Together we'll explore how these patterns formed and build practical ways to bring steadier mood, calmer thinking, and more energy.

You have strengths, things you're good at. You may also have things holding you back such as anxiety, grief, divorce issues, school avoidance, or depression. You are more than the sum of your problems. My goal is to be approachable, knowledgeable, and someone you want to spend time with. Believe it or not therapy can be something you look forward to, not always, but often it can be. Starting with your strengths, I'll help you set goals and plan a path towards the life you'd like to live and the person you'd like to be.

It's not often people get to say how much they enjoy their work, but I do. As the co-founder of Insight Into Action Therapy, I get to meet fascinating people and assist them as they navigate through tough times. I do so through individual and family therapy. In addition, I facilitate several groups, primarily our Dual Diagnosis Recovery Program which is designed to help individuals with co-occuring substance abuse and mental health problems. Besides therapy, I provide community educations and lectures on various topics impacting individuals and the society as a whole.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by family conflict, disconnected from loved ones, or burdened by sadness, you're not alone—and it doesn’t have to stay this way. Many of the women I work with are devoted wives, mothers, and caregivers who’ve spent years putting others first, only to now find themselves anxious, overthinking, and emotionally drained. Together, we’ll uncover the deeper reasons behind your stress and begin a healing process rooted in compassion, growth, and faith. In our work, you’ll be supported as the whole person you are—mind, body, and spirit.

I am now accepting new clients in VA & MD. Hello! Something I have learned as a clinician is that the most important part of therapy is the rapport we have with the individuals we work with. Each person has their own challenges in life, and sometimes we need a little help along the way. I am here to help you along your journey to being the best version of yourself and work through some of the life experiences that you may have a hard time navigating. You don't have to do this alone. Together, we will work to get through these hard times and accomplish your personal goals.

My ideal client is an adult or teen navigating the stress and overwhelm of everyday life — someone who may be silently struggling with anxiety, depression, or a deep sense of being stuck. They often feel like they have to carry their burdens alone, even though they long for support, connection, and a path forward. Their goals may include improving their emotional well-being, building healthier relationships, setting boundaries, or simply learning how to cope more effectively. They want clarity. They want to feel more in control. Ultimately, they want to feel like themselves again — or maybe discover themselves for the first time.

You know exactly what other people think—but struggle to tune into your own thoughts and make choices that reflect who you are. You “play it safe” in relationships or keep people at arm’s length. You find yourself caught in the same frustrating cycles with people you care about. Come think about where you are stuck with me! I use Bowen Theory to help people zoom out and see the bigger picture. This approach is a way of understanding how we’re shaped by the families and systems we’re part of—and how we can change the patterns by thinking more clearly and acting more deliberately.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
