I offer workshops and psycho educational classes for parenting, family core values, healthful eating and individual empowerment, all have been well received with positive outcomes. I use various evidenced based therapuetic modalities and I believe in a compassionate approach during the therapuetic process. I am also committed to helping each individal connect with their innate core value. I am a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist, and a Resident Supervisor.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified EMDR Therapist & Consultant, and Registered Play Therapist (RPT) with over 25 years experience working with youth & adults in a wide variety of settings across the treatment continuum. I started our practice, Tranquil Mind Therapy, LLC in 2016, and we have 5 talented therapists providing general and trauma therapy for clients of all ages, from children to older adults! We partner with clients to process and heal from past and present wounds, achieve balance & resilience, & address various challenges with empowering solutions in a warm, safe, confidential therapeutic space.

Empowerment Counseling Center (ECC) is an outpatient mental health treatment facility that serves individuals and families with coping with everyday stressors as well as unresolved traumas they may have experienced. ECC was formed in 2013 by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience whom saw a growing need to aid individuals in restoring balance to their overwhelming life.

My practice focuses on supporting people who are seeking to improve their lives through understanding identity, relationships, family of origin issues, as well as anxiety and depression.

Yesenia Adent, a Licensed Professional Counselor received her graduate degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Yesenia works with adolescents (13 to 18 year of age), adults, geriatrics, families, and couples. She is fluent in Spanish. Yesenia will work with you or your loved one to promote safety and healing. She prides herself on taking the time to understand your unique story and to work to equip you with understanding and skills that will make the work of change more manageable. She is also a board approved counselor supervisor.

Many clients experience relief from processing trauma, loss and other unwanted changes in a supportive & validating way. I am currently not accepting new clients. I am a licensed professional counselor and registered play therapist working in my own practice with children, teens, and adults. While the work we do is serious, I provide a comfortable environment filled with light, humor, and genuine positive regard. I offer a lively and interactive experience regardless of your needs. I am trained in several models, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), play therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS); however, I believe a solid therapeutic relationship is the foundation for growth and change.

I have over 11 years working with children, and 5 years working specifically with children who have neurological and developmental disabilities. I am a Board Certificated Behavior Analyst and a Licensed Behavior Analyst in the state of Virginia. I build rapport with my clients and their families, bringing a compassionate, strength-based, holistic approach to behavioral treatment.

She received a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Takiya is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP), and is a National Certified Counselor (NCC). Takiya is a Registered Supervisor with the Virginia Board of Counseling for residents in LPC, LMFT, and CSAC.
