As a primary therapist and sole owner of Broken Vessels Counseling, I am focused on only one thing, your success. I am passionate about walking along side the hurting, the lost, the captive, the broken, as they discover for themselves their own unique qualities that make them the treasured works of art they where always meant to be. It is my belief that through client centered individual therapy; "Team" oriented Family Therapy; and peer support group therapy; anyone who comes through our program and gives it all they have will successfully transition towards their desired goal in life, with new inner self awareness, esteem.

VIRTUAL VISITS-Telehealth. We specialize in sessions via the internet on high encrypted, Hipaa Compliant systems (similar to FaceTime, Skype, etc.) It allows for same day sessions for clients who are not able to make it into one of our physical locations. Clients can use their phones, tablets, laptops, and PC's. We are a professional counseling firm with experienced counselors in Sexual Abuse, Relationship/Marital Counseling, Family Counseling, Codependency Counseling, Gender Identity, Incarceration/Probation Counseling, and specialize in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling for adults and teens, as well as Trauma and PTSD.

Life is an ever changing process. Whether it is the people we surround ourselves with, the classes/job we work, or our own physical well-being, few things remain the same. Sometimes, these changes bring on new challenges we feel unprepared to deal with; this past year, the COVID-19 pandemic left several of us feeling alone and ill-equipped for what it brought. In times like these, therapy can be helpful in working through such issues.

I work with a range of clients and issues, but specialize in dissociation and complex trauma in addition to work with teens, young adults, and the LGBTQIA+ community. My biggest strengths as a counselor are my empathy and open-mindedness. I meet clients where they are at, tailoring our work to your preferences and needs, whether you would benefit most from talk therapy, skill building, trauma processing, or a combination of these. This supports building individualized treatment plans and applying creative and validating techniques.

We specialize in adolescents/teens, college aged, young professionals, marital issues (premarital also), and potential separation/divorce situations. We are out-of-network with all insurance plans, but we can assist you in filing your out-of-network benefits.

As a trained clinician and someone who has benefited from therapy myself, I know how terrifying it can be to consider going to a counselor. My goal with all of my clients is to put them at ease by caring for and accepting them just as they are, and to understand the issues they are facing. I want to know what your needs and goals are, and help you create a roadmap to accomplish your goals. I want to understand what you want, and why, so that I can tailor a treatment plan specific to your needs and expectations.

Although my background is in trauma, I have clinical experience and training in assisting all people in dealing with the variety of life struggles. We all face different challenges in life and respond to them in our own ways. As such, each approach in treatment should be unique and person centered. My goal is to help each person along their journey in processing and overcoming their unique challenges so that they can thrive on their own.

One of the things life has taught me is to not believe everything you think because our mind can really play tricks on us. There is hope even when you think there is none. There are solutions even when you cannot see them, because you have more power than you know.

Healing, Growth, Change.....Working toward these three things is the core of my therapeutic approach. I also believe in starting in the “Here and Now” to provide a foundation of coping with current happenings and difficult emotions. Once that foundation is built, we work toward “peeling away the layers” of unpacking the past or looking ahead to the future. Common themes that I address are self-esteem, communication, coping skills for depression and anxiety, success practices and stress management. I will provide a safe, nonjudgemental and nurturing space for you to process whatever it is that you need to work through.

I help Christian women who feel like life just isn't working out. Maybe you give constantly to others, but your relationships are still not satisfying. You work really hard to make things ok, but hard things keep happening, you aren't sure who you are, and you can't shake a sense of general disappointment with God, other people, and life in general. I'll work with you to overcome those hard things and disappointments in a way that lets you move toward healthy and connected relationships with God and other people.

My clients are focused on making their lives better through self-discovery and development of practical coping skills to deal with life issues. Most are seeking help with anxiety, OCD, trauma symptoms or other mood disorders that affect their ability to live life the way they want to live it.

Matthew Gumb brings years of experience in his counseling work with adults, children, and adolescents. Working to help individuals and families that suffer with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, anxiety, anger management, inattentive/impulsive behavior, as well as other issues. His primary theoretical approaches are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as Existentialism and Person-Centered. Matthew also has trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) for assisting individuals with OCD.

The clients I work best with are those who are motivated to change, or curious to see what they could change, to improve their own mental health, and relationships. I enjoy work well with clients who recognize that "something" needs to change, even if they don't know what that "something" is yet. A client should hopefully come to the first session with some kind of goal, even if that goal is as simple as, "I want to feel less depressed/anxious/stuck/reactive/addicted."

Having many years experience in private practice, institutional supervision and serving as a university professor in counselor education, my approaches are best described as eclectic, based on the needs of the client. E is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and provides individual therapy to adults. She is originally from Florida and received her master’s degree in social work from Florida Atlantic University. She has training and expertise in a variety of mental and behavioral health areas, including addiction treatment, geriatric care, child therapy and individual therapy with adults. Prior to receiving her master’s degree, E was a Certified Addiction Specialist in Florida. She spent time counseling in treatment centers but wanted additional education and training to be able to practice more diverse treatment approaches.
