I work well with teen and adult clients who are trauma survivors and help individuals find voice to make meaning, particularly through the use of creativity. I work well with clients who are seeking help with mental health issues such as PTSD, anxiety, depression, identity issues and/or substance use. Many of my clients report they have found value in the therapeutic alliance we co-create, as I make establishing trust and safety a key value. I believe that individuals possess the innate potential to discover healing and define their own journey. I work with persons aged 13 and up.

I provide diagnostic assessment and treatment for adult populations with a broad range of mental health disorders, specializing in the treatment of anxiety and trauma-related disorders. My goals for all patients are two-fold: 1) to help mitigate symptoms in the immediate using cognitive-behavioral strategies and 2) to help patients identify and overcome unhelpful behavioral and relational patterns for long-term symptom reduction and life enhancement.

I see the process of therapy as holding a safe and sacred space, where a therapeutic alliance is built between client and therapist, enabling clients to express themselves authentically, share their struggles, create goals, and overcome obstacles; leading each person to be the best version of themselves. We usually never see it coming, it happens all of a sudden and it can be troublesome before we realize that we need help. Although therapy can be effective, there are times where therapy may not be enough.

I have dedicated all my academic and professional life to the study and treatment of anxiety and OCD-related disorders. Anxiety is very common, and many general therapists do an excellent job treating it. As a specialist, I tend to work with people who experience severe OCD and anxiety symptoms, have participated in residential or intensive programs (IOP, PHP), or have seen a number of therapists in the past, but have been unable to make progress. It is common for people with OCD and severe anxiety to also struggle with depression, relationship problems, etc. I can usually help people make progress in those areas, too!
