When it comes to counseling one of the most courageous actions one may take is moving forward towards growth, healing, and acceptance of one's life challenges. I believe that therapy is where one may be able to flourish and create a new path towards achieving life goals. Whether the struggles are currently present or have occurred in the past it is the current movement and strength that will ultimately create a new chapter towards positivity and growth. I am an EQi- 2.0 certified professional who employs EMDR, and cognitive/behavioral techniques to offer clients concrete tools to address challenges. My research interests include emotional intelligence, enhancing relationship communication in both professional and personal circumstances. Additionally, I can assist with conflict resolution, and empowerment of individuals to achieve their full potential, both professionally and personally.

If you need someone to listen, you are welcome. My background includes nursing and social work, in addition to clinical psychology, and I have more than twenty years of experience with complex clinical issues. My professional experience enables me to work with general adjustment concerns, as well as with mental health diagnoses. For the last few years I have been offering teletherapy, exclusively. My particular interest is in working with older people, with the help of strategies from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I entered the counseling profession to support individuals who are having difficulties facing life’s challenges. I have found that many people struggle because they have created unrealistic expectations about the support, relationships, and encouragement they need. I believe that as humanity becomes “busier,” life becomes more complicated, affecting relationships and how we see ourselves fitting in the world. Life is often full of difficult and complicated experiences that are difficult to overcome, especially without support. Ultimately, these difficulties distract us from pursuing what enriches our lives.

Lashaunda Holmes is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate. Through her experience working with diverse populations, she has developed a true passion for accepting every person, regardless of where they are in life. She believes in the power of holding space for individuals to be their true authentic selves. Lashaunda leads each session with empathy and support to cultivate a judgement-free environment. She is aware that vulnerability and transparency is difficult. She values and believes that developing a strong rapport and providing clients with a safe environment is key to a successful client-therapist relationship.

I'm the owner of TQHT Therapy & Reiki, PLLC a Therapist, Reiki Master Teacher and Life Coach, with experience and training. I have worked effectively with adolescents, college students, adults, families, teen mothers and survivors of domestic abuse; addressing issues inclusive of depression and anxiety, trauma, parent-child conflict, emotional/behavioral disruptions, life and career transitions, gender, sexuality, and spirituality.

I have committed the last 27 years of my life to the mental health field working with adolescents and adults in a variety of settings. I provide quality care to enhance client’s life, make a difference and put a stop to negative debilitating thoughts. I provide a client centered approach; promoting an empathetic, safe and non-judgmental environment for clients to feel comfortable sharing their inner thoughts and feelings. One of the goals of therapy is to help clients achieve growth and relief from day-to-day struggles. I will assist clients in finding strengths within themselves by teaching positive coping skills and more.
