Hi everyone- I'm Misti and I am a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA). I use an integrated approach and strive to create a supportive environment for my clients, as everyone deserves to have a safe space where they can be their raw and genuine selves. I collaborate with my clients to help them come up with the best solutions and strategies for them to heal and effectively manage their symptoms. Life can be overwhelming and challenging but it does not have to be defeating, because you are stronger than you know.

I have many years of experience working with early childhood trauma and severe, persistent mental illness, varying from ages of 5 years to 70+. My goal is to empower and advocate for positive change within you, as the individual, and the system as a whole. The place that we will create together is a safe and judgement free space. I work through an Existential foundation, to help those I work with seek meaning and purpose, with skills built from experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, all within the context of a trauma-informed approach.

Trauma? I am a skilled psychotherapist who believes that my job is to meet each individual where they are by looking at the whole person in order to get them to where they want to be. I have been in private practice for 20 years & clinical practice for 33 years. My clients are individuals, couples and older teens seeking personal growth from issues stemming from trauma, sex addiction and substance abuse. Those I treat are often also dealing with depression and anxiety, and I have extensive experience with law enforcement and PTSD and those healing from childhood trauma as well. I am level I certified in EMDR and incorporate multiple modalities into my work. I have considerable experience with those dealing with personality disorders within their family dynamics and relationships. Couples are a specialty.

As the owner and founder of Begin Anew Counseling, it is my goal to create an environment where individuals can begin their journey toward healing and wholeness. I believe my role is to be a partner and support through the therapeutic process. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have more than 10 years of clinical practice. I am trained in treating adults, children, adolescents and families. I also have extensive training in addiction and dually diagnosed clients. My training is in areas of CBT, Motivational Interviewing, IFS and certified in Anger Management. I have practiced within outpatient and inpatient settings for the past 13 years. I am currently working on becoming a supervisor for LMFT's. I take a trauma informed, compassionate approach while addressing the issues and dynamics head on. I work extremely well with families, adults, kids, adolescents and couples.

Hello! My name is Alante’ Gaines, born and raised in the west end of Louisville, Ky. I am a mom, a wife, a friend, a motivator, survivor, and thriver! God directed my path and led me to the University of the Cumberlands where I received my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Through my life & educational journey, I learned self-awareness, the immense depths of empathy, and most importantly how to be transparent and unbiased. I work with adults, adolescents, teens and families. In session, I support individual struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, postpartum depression and more. I am a down to earth practitioner who will treat you with the respect and kindness needed to build a therapeutic relationship, but will also use a blunt no nonsense approach when needed. Positive Psycho therapy, along with CBT is often used to assist with many mental health concerns, but I understand you are the expert on you and I will work hard to meet you where you’re at in your therapy journey and will go as slow and fast as you are comfortable.
