When life feels heavy, it can leave us overwhelmed, hopeless, or shut down. Guilt, shame, family stress, financial worries, and relationship struggles can take so much energy that it feels impossible to create real change or build the connections you want, but I believe we are all capable of deep, lasting change—no matter our past or the pain we carry.

You may be someone who has already spent a lot of time "doing the work". And despite all of your insight, your nervous system feels on edge, you can't stop ruminating, your body stays tense, and certain experiences still carry an unpredictable charge. Trauma & anxiety don’t just live in the mind - they live in the nervous system and body. My work focuses on helping you process what’s been stored there so you can feel calmer, clearer, and more confident. I often work with artists, creatives, highly sensitive and neurodivergent individuals, high-achieving professionals & people who define themselves as "seekers".

The key to emotional and psychological wellness lies in the balance of action and acceptance. The role of the therapist is to provide the client with enough unconditional support and practical strategies to attain this balance and achieve their goals. Because each client is different, I use an integrated approach. I draw from person centered therapy, attachment/psychodynamic theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness.

It's gotten so loud in your head lately with constant worries, things you have to do to prevent your anxiety's worst nightmare from coming true, and negative thoughts about your body, it's been hard to focus and feel motivated. You feel on edge most of the time; you're just waiting for something to go horribly wrong, or you're struggling finding a balance with your relationship to food and exercise. You're feeling like things didn't always feel this way, and maybe the people around you have started to notice. But you're not sure how to get back to how things were, and the people around you aren't sure how to help either.

If you’re here, chances are you’ve been carrying more than anyone can see—grief that lingers, anxiety that won’t quiet, or relationships that feel harder than they should. You may feel exhausted from holding it all together, disconnected from yourself or those you love, and unsure how to ask for what you need. You long for relief from constant overthinking, for steadier relationships, and for space to process loss without being consumed by it. Therapy can help you return to yourself with clarity, compassion, and hope.

Many people who work well with me are those who found previous therapy to be too dry and uninvolved. Others are curious about working somatically and seek me out for that. Therapy is challenging, vulnerable work and it does not stop when a given session ends. The way you engage with yourself – your dreams, the art you make or are drawn to, and of course the way you participate in relationships are all things that deserve attention and fuel your ability to participate well in therapy. I enjoy working with folks who take this to heart, are genuinely curious about how they've come to be this way, and are ready to invest in change.

My clients are mid-career couples, traditional and non-traditional, who are deeply committed to building full, meaningful lives - but struggle to feel the intimacy they once did. They cherish their autonomy while also longing to build a partnership rooted in deep connection. From the outside, things may look solid. Inside, there is distance, misattunement, or the quiet ache of not quite reaching each other. Rather than staying at the level of the argument, I help you slow down and move underneath it - into the feelings and protective patterns that keep you stuck.

Whatever is holding you back, whether it's perfectionism, chronic stress, burnout, grief, or navigating a life transition, I'm passionate about helping you come back to center.

People often seek therapy with me because they long for a deeper sense of connection—with themselves, others, or the world. You may find yourself overanalyzing social interactions, second-guessing decisions, struggling to assert needs, or holding yourself to impossibly high standards. Perhaps you lose your sense of self around others or strive for perfection to feel safe and worthy. When these patterns begin to take a toll, it’s often a sign your usual ways of coping are no longer serving you. In addition to talk therapy, I also specialize in psychedelic integration and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy (KAP).

For sixteen years I've been seeing clients (both individuals and couples) and my goal has always been to help them achieve meaningful change, whether in getting through a difficult current situation or wanting to break old patterns that keep them from living a more fulfilling life. Some challenges I've helped people overcome include anxiety, depression, relationship issues, feeling stuck in a rut, grief, hopelessness, self-esteem issues, and work-related stress. Exploring these issues with a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental therapist can really help.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
