Let's face it- Whatever you are going through and whatever is bringing you to seek a therapist, it is probably not fun. Whether it is a break up, a divorce, a job loss, a death of a loved one, you have come to the right place. Seeking therapy and gaining self awareness can be life changing. Whether it is a current life crisis or the desire to change old ugly repetitive patterns, my style is nurturing, directive and fun. I work with you as a team getting to the core of the problem, and to help you move forward, hopefully with a fresh and new perspective.

Our personal evolution is often shaped by change—within the layered identities we carry, the connections that ground us, and the roles we’re asked to grow into. Life transitions such as ending a partnership, changing careers, becoming a parent, or grieving a loss can leave us feeling disoriented and emotionally taxed, caught between who we once were and who we’re becoming. I support clients in exploring the distinct challenges, nuances, and empowering possibilities that exist within these tender, pivotal seasons of transition.

Life is a lot to handle at times. This as well as depression, anxiety, transitions, loss, pain caused by trauma, societal norms that misalign with our personal values, career uncertainty, self-doubt, relationship issues, & more. Weeks, months, and even years can go by before we even realize how much it is impacting us in all areas. The beauty in these situations is an opportunity to develop the healthiest version of ourselves with support. Many people turn to therapy. It’s no secret that people do not come to therapy just to talk, but, to also turn their challenges into opportunities for insight, growth, & goals to achieve.

I have a passion for seeing my clients have a transformational experience, evolving toward becoming more self realized persons. Let's talk about your difficulties, fears, or sadness. Let's understand your anxiety or anger. And let's do it in a warm and safe space where we will set judgment aside. We'll explore how you became who you are today, and perhaps along the way you'll discover a kinder view of yourself, capable of moving away from bitterness or anger, unleashing your creativity, and ultimately knowing yourself through your profound relationships with others.

We push away parts of ourselves in order to survive in this world whether that be due to extensive trauma, systemic oppression, or just navigating the existential confusion of being a human. Sometimes, it even works! But it always catches up with us. We obsess, ruminate, or just straight up shut down. We're unfulfilled and lost. But, we don't have to live a life of constantly being overwhelmed by our thoughts, feelings, and the world around us. It may seem far away, but we can even thoroughly enjoy our lives. The healing and growth process is an elusive one and my aim to help you navigate what that looks like for you.

Change is constant. Whether with work, personal relationships, or society in general, everything is always changing, evolving - moving forward. Sometimes the tools or thoughts we use to cope with the ever-changing situations are out dated and leave us feeling frustrated, fearful, or even overwhelmed. In recognizing this, it is time to update our thoughts and coping skills so we can move forward and grow away from fears, low self esteem, or "stuck" feelings. Hypnosis is a safe, effective Holistic tool, with a positive approach to overcoming the fears/challenges holding you back from the success you desire and deserve.

You love your child deeply—but lately it feels like their anxiety, anger, or big reactions are running the show. You’ve read the books, tried the advice, stayed up late searching for answers… yet you’re still finding yourself in power struggles, tiptoeing around triggers, and second-guessing every decision. You’re not alone—and you’re not failing. You’re a caring parent who wants to support your child, and you’re ready for change. You’re ready for evidence-based strategies that actually work. You’re ready to feel hopeful again. Most of all, you’re ready to see your child (and yourself) thrive. I can help!

Therapy facilitates a process that can produce new ways of thinking, feeling, and being. I work with individuals whose struggles have led them to become curious about how life can change. I meet with adults, teenagers, children, and couples who confront anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, grief, relationship issues, creative blocks, unwanted states of mind, spiritual or existential crises, and confusion or concerns about their current circumstances.

I primarily work with men who feel stuck. This "stuckness" often relates to a life stage, a a search for meaning, a difficult relational moment, or a loss that needs to be carefully worked through. Shame, which most men are socialized around, often stands in the way of getting support in these moments. Shame is often the wall that I help dissolve with my clients so that insight, joy, and adventure can naturally happen.

Long Term psychotherapy provides a safe and affirming space for LGBTQ2+ individuals to explore identity, heal from pain, and build resilience. For many in the LGBTQ2+ community, therapy can be a powerful place to feel seen, understood, and supported—especially when navigating a world that doesn’t always provide that safety or acceptance.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
