At some point in our lives, many of us look around and realize we no longer like the life we've built - or maybe even who we've become while living it. We may even feel we should like it, but somehow it no longer fits. I build relationships with clients, creating a safe place to explore and express these feelings. Therapy creates change by examining the experiences and beliefs that contribute to feeling stuck and make it harder to hear our own, often elusive, inner knowing. I love working with clients to address the issues holding them back so they can create a life and self that excites them again.

I work with highly sensitive people who feel overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in patterns of self-doubt, burnout, and disconnection. My clients often long for deeper peace, stronger boundaries, and more authentic relationships—but they may not know where to start. Many are navigating life transitions, past trauma, or complex emotions that leave them feeling isolated or exhausted. They want to feel more grounded, aligned, and confident in who they are and how they move through the world.

It can be exhausting to pretend that you aren’t as overwhelmed, hurt, angry, ashamed or scared as you are. The weight of these feelings can sometimes be too much to bear alone. With me, you won’t have to hide your scars or keep up appearances. You don’t need to know exactly where to start. We’ll let curiosity guide our conversations about whatever is on your mind. Through this process, we’ll figure out what stands between your life today and the one you’d like to live

“The unexamined life is not worth living.” These words spoken by Socrates have been, whether known or not consciously known, the guiding force that has brought individuals, families, and couples to my office. Whether they have been experiencing depression, anxiety, relationship stress, illness, or substance abuse, a common thread runs through them all: the desire to feel more connected to others and to themselves; to experience a sense of aliveness and joy through such relationships. In your strive for wholeness, I pay attention to your unique life story to support you in reclaiming your authentic self.

Welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. My approach is rooted in supporting you—as a whole person. I focus on helping you feel better and create the life you want to live. Therapy with me blends humor, practical wisdom, relatable language, and an eclectic mix of evidence-based techniques. I offer a nonjudgmental space, and I believe in celebrating joy in life’s small, everyday moments. A diagnosis doesn’t define who you are. Together, we’ll explore the symptoms or challenges that may be impacting your well-being, and work collaboratively to find solutions that align with your strengths and values.

Are you the kind of woman who’s seen as responsible, capable, and “put together”, yet inside you feel overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of who you really are? You might be a high achiever, deep feeler, or the one everyone leans on, but you're tired of the pressure to always keep it together. Maybe you find yourself overthinking everything, putting others needs before your own, or feeling like no matter how much you do, it’s never quite enough. You’re ready to feel like yourself again and start living with more clarity, confidence, and ease.

You can grow through crisis and challenge! As a psychologist and family therapist I am interested in the family dynamics that have contributed to the issues my clients are facing. I'm especially interested in couples' issues because it's such a challenge to live with someone who inevitably brings up your issues. I'm a seasoned therapist, originally trained as a music therapist, who works with a wide range of issues from personal coaching to parenting, from depression/anxiety to spiritual growth. My view is that every crisis and difficult issue is an opportunity for personal growth.

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience working with adults throughout the lifespan. More people than ever are experiencing issues related to burnout, isolation, loneliness, grief, illness and trauma. Sometimes it is too difficult to address these issues alone. In my many years of experience I have found that when people feel listened to and supported they are able to increase their own ability to find greater health and healing as well as acceptance. I am client centered, relational, holistic in my approach and welcome LGBTQIA, BIPOC as well as neurodivergent clients.

You want to feel authentic and empowered, but you are struggling to calm guilt of displeasing others and feeling unsure of yourself. You may be fed up with the constant overthinking, wondering if you are doing the right thing, or feeling that you just can’t let things go. You might even be envious of those who seem to have better boundaries with loved ones. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to understand why this is happening. You are ready to feel confident and assertive in your life. Most of all, you’re ready to feel secure with yourself and your choices.

My father was an alcoholic who drank to coverup anxiety and depression and eventually died from it. His life and subsequent death has had a significant impact on me. I couldn't save him but I realized from an early age that I wanted to help others with their problems. Perhaps you have a difficult situation or feel stuck or discouraged. Together we will work to build a supportive and safe relationship; identify and clarify issues; help you tell your unique story; and develop strategies for action so that you can make positive changes and move forward in your life.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
