Sometimes we feel overwhelmed by the ups and downs of life, like a kaleidoscope of shifting emotions and experiences. Whether you’re an adult trying to have everything "figured out," a teenager navigating daily pressures, or a college student juggling school and life, it can be a lot to handle. Many struggle with anxiety, uncertainty, and self-doubt, often feeling the weight of expectations. What you need is a safe space to share your thoughts and gain some clarity. Your goals could be building self-awareness, resilience, or confidence while finding a sense of balance. In therapy, you can explore a path that is true to you.

It takes courage to ask for help, and immense strength. Therapy provides an opportunity for the human connection we all desperately need but is often lost – especially in today’s world. My passion is helping individuals, families and couples achieve improved emotional well-being, healthier relationships, and greater resiliency.

I became a therapist because I believe that therapy is for guys too. Maybe you're worried about how your kid is going to grow up if they can't succeed in school, or get their emotions under control; it's really hard to parent alone. As an adult, maybe someone is telling you to get your emotions under control, or maybe you just don't have the confidence that you think you should have at your age. Male loneliness has now reached new heights. I am here to tell you that it doesn't have to be this way.

We believe emotional wellness matters (a lot), and that everyone has the right to make it a priority. Unfortunately, it’s not always that simple. So many questions can get in the way. Maybe you’ve even asked them yourself: Is this normal? Can talking to someone really help me? What is therapy all about, anyway? What would people say if they knew I was going? How do I find the right therapist? Will I be comfortable there? When will I find the time? Will my insurance pay for this? If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. And we can help. My overall philosophy as a counseling psychologist is that although therapy can be hard work, it should also be easy to get into, easy to get out of, and easy to return to when needed. I am a generalist with a focus on working with women, LGBTQ individuals and couples, developing professionals, and clinicians. My approach to psychotherapy is collaborative, and I incorporate a variety of treatment methods as appropriate, including process-experiential, narrative, and solution-focused strategies. I strive to create an environment where people feel supported and challenged to explore fears, discover strengths, and achieve goals.

Life is hard, sometimes! Therapy provides you with that extra support as well as the opportunity to grow, evolve and learn new ways to cope with life's challenges. I believe the trust and rapport built between a client and therapist forms the foundation of all progress made in therapy. This relationship supports increasing awareness of the present, identifying what is no longer working, setting long term goals and taking small steps toward those goals. Building a life based in vitality, hope and an increased capacity for joy rather than one filled with suffering, avoidance and futility.

At some point in our lives, each of us will strive for change. We may want to grow, to heal, to connect differently, or to deepen our understanding of ourselves and those around us. As a counselor, it is a privilege to support my clients during these difficult and often momentous times.

Walk Talk Therapy, LLC Tammie Rosenbloom
Clinical Social Work/Therapist, MSW, LICSW

Minnetonka, MN 55343
Walk Talk Therapy is just like it sounds-we are outdoors walking side by side during therapy instead of sitting inside an office. Walk Talk Therapy is a more relaxed environment than the counseling office. Walking while sharing your struggles and life situations can also be meditative. Research has consistently shown that exercise can significantly impact anxiety and stress while improving overall mood. I work with teens, adults, couples and families. If you're feeling stuck and disconnected from others, you have trouble sitting still or you want a new perspective, I welcome your email or phone call.

It's been a wild few years. I've been helping Millennial and Gen Z women dealing with symptoms of anxiety, depression, trauma, and other life stressors for 10 years. I believe in working collaboratively with clients using humor, validation, and empathy to build a solid connection which then allows for clients to feel safe enough to try explore societal norms, previous trauma, and expectations that have prevented them from living their idealized life. In my experience I've found that when clients are able to try out new ways of being they can achieve the healing they've been desiring.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
