I specialize in providing a comprehensive secure psychiatric mental health evaluation and medication management for children, teens, and adults who are struggling with a variety of symptoms. These include anxiety, depression, ADHD, unstable moods, personality disorders, trauma, sleep disturbances, substance use, OCD and psychosis. Patients seek privacy and educated treatment within a non-judgmental space to ultimately lead to a more healthy, productive and positive experience with the management of mental health concerns.

Goodness can life be hard! While knowing that each of us experience difficulties in different ways throughout our lives, a few things that I believe can buffer some of life’s challenges include kindness, relationship, and self-care. I am glad that you are here seeking support, and I would be honored to be a part of your support system if that feels helpful. My primary role is to discuss and prescribe medications that may support you physiologically and therefore emotionally. The decision is yours as to whether this approach feels helpful in your course of treatment. It would be a privilege to walk alongside you.

Although carefully chosen medications can quickly achieve much needed relief of anxiety, depression, insomnia and trauma symptoms, a thorough evaluation can also identify many opportunities for improvement without medications. The most effective treatment plan may include work-life balance, nutrition and sleep strategies, address, avoid or adapting to triggers, in addition to multiple psychotherapies. When needed, medications with the lowest side effects, easiest to use, most predictably effective & not addictive are recommended. Ultimately, it is up to each person to decide which strategies they will use to achieve wellness.

Specializing in genetic testing, I work collaboratively with clients to develop treatment goals and plans to improve overall quality of life. I take a holistic approach to treatment and aim to use pharmacological treatment in a realistic and practical way, only using medications when indicated. My most successful patients are those who enter into treatment motivated for change.

People may struggle with these symptoms throughout their lives or they can be brought on by new, expected or unexpected life stressors. It isn’t always easy to know where to turn to feel welcomed and accepted without judgment and to find yourself in a place of safety and security. This is where the broken road meets the journey of empowerment of healing.

Our clinic treats ages 5 & up. Sessions are conducted virtually (using a HIPAA compliant platform). We understand that medication management is not the only solution. The lifestyle that precipitated the stress response in the first plans needs to change. In addition to psychotherapy and medication management, we place high regards for modalities such as weight management, medical management, exercise, and sleep hygiene to combat the body’s inflammatory response, which exacerbates mental illness. We aim to uses the lowest effective dose and help people to eventually not depend on medication.

I believe in a holistic and client-centered approach to psychiatric mental health care. In addition to evidenced-based psychiatry and medication management, we will review supplements, vitamins, and other complementary approaches as part of your mental health treatment.

I believe authentic relationship and a depth of understanding are essential keys to best mental health treatment and support. Whether I am evaluating for therapy or medication services, I conduct comprehensive intakes so as to appreciate the complex roles and interplay of personal psychological development, attachment relationships, trauma, genetics, physical wellness and medical illness, brain injury, neurodevelopment, medications, treatment history, substance use, social roles, values, culture, and spiritual focus in a person’s life. My treatment approach is relational and works to support progress through insight.

My motto is, “You’re the expert on you.” I have expert knowledge in psychiatry, and you are the expert on your life, body, and needs. My goal is to work together with you to assess your unique story and create a plan to help you address your needs and meet your goals. In addition to "traditional" medication management and psychiatry, I work with my team at Plus by APN to help you evaluate additional psychiatric options like Deep Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Spravato or ketamine-assisted healing, or neurofeedback.

I have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings with kids, teens and young adults experiencing a variety of mental health issues including mood disorders, behavioral issues, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders and thought disorders.

I have 10 years experience treating both mental health and substance abuse. My goal is to help patients and their families diagnose and treat the problems they have, while being respectful and compassionate. I help those suffering from depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, OCD, as well as many other mental health disorders, including opiate addiction on an outpatient basis using buprenorphine.
