Living with neurodiversity like ADHD, Autism, learning differences, OCD etc. can bring both unique strengths and daily challenges. Anxiety, stress, and relationship struggles are common, leaving many individuals, couples, and families feeling stuck. I understand this deeply—not only through years of professional training but also from my own life in a neurodivergent family. In therapy, I offer a safe, supportive space to explore how neurodivergence shapes communication, intimacy, and family dynamics.

Life abroad can be enriching, but it often comes with challenges that feel overwhelming. Many people seek therapy when they notice recurring patterns that cause them distress, when emotions and thoughts pile up and become unmanageable, or when old coping strategies and the support of friends or family are no longer enough. Sometimes, therapy is simply about wanting to better understand yourself and build a stronger, more fulfilling relationship with who you are. Our approach combines diverse therapeutic perspectives and an understanding of different cultural contexts, offering a broader view of people and their inner experiences.

Worry has a way of convincing us that the worst will happen and that we won’t be able to cope. Worry feels uncontrollable, overwhelming and all-consuming. You may try to push the thoughts away, avoid situations, or procrastinate to escape the anxiety, but end up feeling worse. You might feel the urge to keep checking things or asking others for reassurance, but that comfort is fleeting, and doubt quickly creeps back in. Worry can drain your energy, leaving you exhausted, restless or on edge.

I’m Jacek, a qualified therapist working with individuals. I support people affected by trauma and relationship challenges, with a particular interest in working with those who feel detached or disconnected from themselves and others. My approach is primarily psychodynamic, exploring how our experiences and relationships shape the ways in which we relate to ourselves and the world around us. I aim to create a space for honest conversations, where any thoughts, feelings, memories, or concerns can be explored freely and with care. Together, we work towards a deeper understanding of yourself and finding new ways to move forward.

Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, low mood, stress, or self doubt. Some are finding relationships difficult, experiencing intense emotions, or noticing patterns of behaviour that feel hard to understand or change. Others may be navigating questions around identity, confidence, or a sense of feeling stuck, while some are living with the impact of past or recent trauma. Often, there is a desire to make sense of what is happening beneath the surface. To understand themselves more deeply, step out of unhelpful cycles, and feel more grounded, connected, and fulfilled in everyday life.

It can be extremely daunting to start your journey in therapy and this is why I have a very professional and relaxed approach. After an assessment, we would be able to establish how we can work together and what that would entail. This is often the beginning of an amazing journey.

Hi, I'm Neil. I believe that therapy can be life-changing and have seen this from both sides of the therapeutic process. I bring to my practice my own experience as a person in a complex and often difficult world. This experience has helped form my values as a person first, but also as a therapist.

Often we can think about situations differently, but we struggle to feel differently. This is why I work with embodiment and the felt-sense of our experiences. Having the supportive presence of another to explore our whole selves can help us find more choice and possibility in how we respond to the circumstances we find ourselves in. It can help us move from a place of fixity to flow. I have a particular interest in early developmental trauma and how it impacts our nervous system and affects our lives far into adulthood.

I am an HCPC-registered art therapist based in Edinburgh. I am currently working with children and young people across primary schools in East Lothian with Place2Be, and in private practice through the Creative Arts Therapies Space. My priority is creating a space where you feel safe by developing a real and trusting relationship. My practice is adapted to the needs of each particular person at each time. We will develop what your therapy will look like together. My approach is psychodynamically-informed, which means it considers how our past experiences have shaped us, as well as trauma-informed and person-centred.
