I'm a fully qualified music therapist in Edinburgh, registered with the Health and Care Professions Service (HCPC). Within my work, I have a special interest in adapting therapy for those with disabilities and neurodivergency; every person is unique, so I believe their therapy should be unique to match. I use music therapy to help you explore, understand and express your emotions. Together we can build a deeper understanding of what's brought you to where you are now, why you're struggling, and what coping techniques can help.

Going through times in life when we feel overwhelmed, confused, or dissatisfied can be very painful. This is when we may need support, rather than going it alone, to understand more about ourselves, what’s happening for us, and begin finding a way forward. The safety, care, and support available in therapy can register with us on a deep level, and bring about more ease, confidence and enjoyment in how we live.

I work with individuals and couples, specialising in relationship counselling, sex therapy and sex addiction & compulsivity therapy. As a relationship counsellor, I support couples with various complex issues, including dealing with the impact of porn addiction on their relationship. Having a partner with porn and/or sex compulsivity can be devastating. I support partners trying to come to terms with the discovery and help them navigate the relationship fall-out.

I work in collaboration with my clients to find what they would like to bring into the therapy room and have a particular interest in personal identities and how my clients wish to be seen and accepted in the world. This includes identities around chronic illness and disability, as well as around gender, sexuality and relationship diversity. I do not work as a blank mirror but instead use my knowledge and training to create a dialogue between me and my clients.

“At a certain point in our lives, we lose control of what’s happening to us, and our lives become controlled by fate.” The refreshing twist is: “That’s the world’s greatest lie.” I share this belief with Paulo Coelho. Choosing therapy is a meaningful act of self‑care, and I’m here to support you throughout the process.

What if. Two words that send your mind down a well-worn path. Words and images that pop into your head at any moment and no matter how hard you try to push it away you find yourself stuck; thinking, feeling and doing the same thing over and over. Maybe it’s reliving the past, maybe it’s worrying about the future, or feeling you need to do something right now or something bad will happen. “What if” is hard to live with. But when your mind is stuck in the “what if’s” your brain is telling you there is something you need to figure out, something you need to rebalance.

Hi, I'm Andy. If exercise feels like something that happens to other people - or something you keep meaning to get back to - you're probably not short of reasons why. Maybe the gym feels like the last place you'd be comfortable. Maybe pain, health worries, or a difficult patch in life got in the way, and the gap has grown wider than you'd like.

Feeling alone and disconnected – whether it’s from yourself or others – can be very difficult. Many of us carry wounds from feeling unheard, unseen or like we don’t fit neatly into society’s assumptions and expectations. It can be overwhelming to think about things that may be causing stress and anxiety, or make sense of painful memories and past experiences that still show up in the present. I believe that therapy begins with connection – with building a relationship in an environment that is safe enough to show up just as you are, even with the parts of yourself that feel messy, uncomfortable, and hard to name.

Hello and welcome. I’m a person-centred therapist who believes that much damage is done in relationships. I also believe that, as hard as it might seem, it is in relationship that we heal. The core of my practice is in offering you a relationship you can trust. Where you’re accepted, held and supported. I will welcome you, exactly as you are. Whatever you are dealing with, I commit to working with you openly and sincerely as myself. I will listen, understand and engage with you sensitively and compassionately as a “fellow traveller”, in the hope that it will allow you to feel safe to explore your concerns.

Hello and welcome! I'm Nicoletta, a qualified therapist based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I offer in-person or online sessions if you prefer the comfort of your own space. My approach is based on the core principles of trauma-informed practice which means that I work within a non-hierarchical framework that offers safety, choices, collaboration, trustworthiness and transparency. As we do not live in a vacuum, I firmly believe in the importance of exploring sociocultural, environmental and economic factors that contribute to the origin and maintenance of psychological distress.

My mode of therapy is psychodynamic, based on Freudian psychoanalysis, where a basic, central, premise was his view of the mind. Freud’s belief intimated that some of what we experience on a day-to-day basis e.g. emotions, beliefs and impulses; takes place in the unconscious and is not available to the conscious mind. Similarly, my belief, is that the unconscious mind governs behaviour to a much greater degree than people suspect and my therapy involves deep exploration of clients’ past to access, and understand, the root cause of their problems. The emphasis of psychodynamic therapy is on the trust between client and therapist.
