Often people seek out counselling when a situation feels too difficult to understand and figure out alone. In an effort to deal with difficult emotions, we can find that the things we do or say make the situation worse, push us further away from the people we want to be, or be close to, and prevent us from fully living the life we want. In my practice I work with adults to help lessen emotional pain while optimizing your personal strengths and growth. I work from a trauma informed, evidence-based perspective using multiple techniques and approaches to best fit your goals and needs. I can work within short term or longer term goals.

My therapeutic approach in my clinical practice is based upon an initial assessment of Client's core values, sense of meaning and identity . It is my experience that people of all stripes seek interior / spiritual balance. Assisting them in the areas that they identify as challenges; feeling overwhelmed, a want of vision and/or control, depression, grieving losses, stress, anxiety, or a sense of aloneness are areas where I can provide my expertise to help them along the path of healing, wellness, and purposefulness.

I work with men who are seeking emotional balance, harmonious relationships, freedom from anxiety and negative thinking, and an overall sense of well-being. I specialize in short-term counselling, typically three to six sessions. Options for longer-term support are also available. The process begins with an informal in-person introductory session. The purpose of this session is to establish therapeutic 'fit' and to identify an approach that will provide clients with the greatest possible benefit in the shortest period of time. The fee for this session and for any followup sessions is $115.

It can sometimes be overwhelming dealing with the circumstances of life. Sometimes depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, relationship troubles, insomnia, caregiver and work stress among other things can pile up so high that it’s hard to see ahead to better days. But you don’t have to do this alone. Those who have a network of support recover better from mental health struggles than those trying to do it alone. And YOU are now taking the first step at expanding your support network It is my goal that through our work together, you will experience rising hope, and that tomorrow will be better than today!

Accepting new clients for both online & in-office sessions! Sometimes we lose ourselves in relationships, work, family, etc. We become stuck and keep repeating the same patterns over again - patterns and habits that we don't even like doing anymore. Therapy is a wonderful vessel to reconnect with yourself, your wants, and your needs. Therapy can also be useful if you're trying to make big decisions and leaps in your life and want to openly talk about your options with a non-judgmental third party. How can I find a therapist in K7K?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or postcode into the search bar.

Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In Canada, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
How much does therapy cost?
Some forms of mental health treatment (for example, seeing a psychiatrist, or seeing a psychologist in a government-funded hospital) are free under provincial health plans. Canadians who seek private counseling can typically expect to pay an average of $150 per session, although the actual price generally ranges between $100 and $300 per session, depending on their location and the type of provider they select. Workplace benefits or private insurance plans often provide an annual counselling allowance, and some therapists offer sliding scale fees to clients who cannot pay full price.
