My therapy work is rooted in a systemic approach with children, adolescents, couples, and families experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting challenges, grief, etc... . Through my own identities and experiences as a 1.5 generation immigrant from the Philippines, being raised in Los Angeles, and as an educator for over 20 years, I understand the impact of harm and losses that carry from generation to generation caused by systems that are not made for us. They surface in our lives and within our relationships.

I am a compassionate person that truly believes that each individual in this world deserves authentic happiness and inner peace. We all have our own journey of growth, and I feel like I have a unique opportunity to create a safe space to support others in healing from experiences that have challenged their sense of self. Each individual is in charge of his/her/their own growth, and I view therapy as a partnership between myself and my clients throughout each stage of change. Therapy is a process that enables a person to discover self-awareness, to harness self-expression, and explore the capacity to have and hold stronger feelings.

My client profile consists of 1/3 children/adolescents, 1/3 trauma focused therapy due to sexual assault and/or sexual addiction impact, and 1/3 females over 40 who would like to explore making changes in life. I enjoy the diversity of my practice as all the above mentioned areas enable me to work with both childhood disorders and relational challenges into adulthood. My focus on sexual addiction/trauma and family of origin issues is to provide supportive and therapeutic space for partners and children/teens who have been impacted by someone who has either a confirmed or suspected sexual addiction.

Jen Sachek, Ph.D., obtained her doctorate in clinical psychology from Michigan State University in 2007. She practiced as a licensed psychologist in Michigan before moving to the Seattle area in 2016. She is currently licensed in Washington and Michigan. Dr. Sachek specializes in working with adults with a range of difficulties, including depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship problems, grief/loss, and trauma. She works with clients in a warm, collaborative environment to identify areas where they struggle, and to find ways to create change in those areas.

I provide marriage counseling, couples counseling, and individual counseling for adults 18 and older.
