My passion for counseling and working closely with people and their stories has always been a part of what drives me. I am particularly passionate about working closely with those who experience trauma of any kind as well as the affects that come along with it such as anxiety, depression, family issues, relationship issues etc. I specialize in working with women, in particular, to help them see that no matter where their story has led them to until now, that their story matters regardless and healing can be found in each chapter.

Ms. Deena Robertson, a Licensed Resident in Counseling, has genuine compassion and empathy for those who have walked through difficult life experiences. She believes in emotional growth, hope, compassion for yourself, and understanding your traumatic experiences. Deena is very trauma-informed and believes in a non-discriminatory and non-judgmental environment that allows healing, growth, and true insight. Mandy is a licensed professional counselor in the Commonwealth of Virginia and a National Certified Counselor. She has completed her Bachelors degree in Psychology, along with her Master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. She has had the honor with working with a variety of populations including children, adolescents, adults and couples for over the past five years. Mandy has experience working with different mental and behavioral needs such as trauma, depression, anxiety, divorce, aggression and others. Trying really hard to go on with “normal” life can take so much energy when you are carrying the unresolved baggage from trauma. Often we try to shove the feelings down and push even harder only to have ongoing intrusive trauma symptoms interfering with relationships, sleep, work and just functioning. Night terrors, flashbacks and overwhelming triggers can make daily life feel like walking through a mine field. I was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia, but have had the amazing opportunity to live and work all over the country including: Washington, DC; New Orleans, LA; Miami, FL and Boulder, CO. Lynchburg is by far my favorite place and I was happy to return home in 2005. I enjoy cooking, gardening, reading and spending time with my family and friends. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2003 with an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Community Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Counseling.
