I have experience working with substance use, depression, anxiety, trauma, and PTSD, as well as other mental health issues

I provide individual and family therapy for a variety of needs. These include, but are not limited to: Depression, anxiety, trauma (PDST), Opposition Defiance Disorders, ADHD, Reactive Attachment Disorders, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorders, Mental Retardation, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Learning Disorders, Conduct Disorders, Grief Issues, Adoption Issues, Various forms of Dementia, and other issues. I have been a practicing therapist for over 30 years and have consulted in the states of Utah, Idaho and Washington. I hold a teaching degree in Secondary Education and a MA in Psychology, and have owned and run my own private mental health practice since 1984.

All humans need connection, love, support, and a safe place to be their authentic self. My value and understanding of this need is shown in my approach in everyday life along with my approach with all clients. I believe in meeting the client where they are and allowing each person to be their genuine authentic self in their journey of healing. I value every person’s perspective and meet them where they are. I value the nature of inner wounds and create a mutual plan for healing tailored to each client.

My career began in the field of Substance Abuse. From there I have been working with children, adolescents, teens, and adults with various mental diagnoses over the past 13 years. I am involved in various Human Rights campaigns and a firm believer in equality. My philosophy is simple, provide no-nonsense, affordable care for the people.

I am a licensed clinical child psychologist specializing in utilizing state of the art assessment and therapy techniques to detect and treat learning disabilities, ADHD, and other emotional/personality issues which may hinder a child's learning experience. In addition, our clinic performs infant developmental testing and kindergarten readiness evaluations. As a parent of five children, I understand the many issues that we face on a daily basis with our children and I strive to assist parents with finding answers to problems facing their family system.

I have worked with mental health issues for several years and have successfully helped children, adolescents and adults work through their issues. I have experience with postpartum depression, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, abuse, addictions and many other mental health diagnoses. I also specialize in marriage, family and relationship counseling.

What a different world we live in compared to just 5 years ago! It is my honor and intention to provide up-to-date, practical, and informed care. I also love working with children and their adults :)

I completed my Masters in Social Work at the University of Utah in 2000 and my LCSW in 2002. Since that time, I have worked in various clinical settings from school counseling, residential care, foster-care, outpatient clinics and private practice. My therapeutic style evokes the strength and wisdom already inherent within each individual. My role as a therapist is to guide and inspire clients through an empathetic, straight forward approach to learn coping skills and secure a foundation for truly lasting changes.

Having a therapist who is willing to sit with a client’s discomfort and uplift their spirit can make a world of difference. I work with children and adolescents to foster growth in being emotionally resilient and be able to live fulfilling lives. Therapy for children and adolescents should be both fun and helpful. I sprinkle games and relationship building activities throughout my sessions, so time spent is enjoyable. As your therapist, I will use evidence-based treatments to support your family’s natural strengths in creating the change you want.

As a Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Registered Art Therapist, I work with clients at all ages and stages of life. I take a client-centered approach and follow the needs of each individual depending on whether they prefer talk therapy, art therapy or a combination. Majority of my experience includes working with clients that struggle with anxiety, depression, attachment issues, family conflict, trauma and abuse/neglect. I aim to create a safe space to build trust and empower self growth in my clients. Therapy has been healing in my own life and I hope to provide support for others struggling with their mental health.

I have an extensive 20-year background as a therapist in a multitude of settings. I am committed and passionate to my work in helping individuals and families find their inner strength and resilience to live their best life. I specialize in treating trauma, addition and relationship issues. I am a certified addiction counselor, an EMDR trauma practitioner, and have extensive training in psychodynamic and attachment theory. I also utilize mindfulness-based ACT therapy techniques with my clients. I am a MindShield practitioner and trainer as well.

I am accepting new clients and offer Online Counseling via Telehealth. I've provided over 10,000 hours of therapy and like Confucius said, "Choose a job you love, and you will never work a day in your life." I managed LDS Family Services for 13 years and loved directing the 12-step Addiction Recovery Program in Michigan, New York and Pennsylvania. I've been recruited by multiple residential treatment centers, a hospital, a skilled nursing facility, and by an IOP program assessing and treating substance abuse and domestic violence.
