Modalities I pull from include but not limited to CBT, Existential, and Structural therapy.
Tired, Sad, Hurting, Unheard, and Overwhelmed. These are just a few words that many people are feeling at this exact moment. The pain of any one of these words alone can be demoralizing by itself. As a person who has overcome my own mental health issues, I feel I bring an unmatched level of compassion, grace, and guanine care into every session. Let's work together to find you the peace, healing, and connection you unconditionally deserve. By no means will it be easy but as the saying goes "nothing worth doing is easy" and the time has come to recognize that you are worth the effort.

I am EMDR trained and use principles from IFS, EFT, CBT, ACT, and attachment theory.
Hello! My name is Andrea Wilson and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I believe each person has the ability to find answers and healing within themselves and my role as a therapist is to provide support and guidance along the journey. I believe our experiences often shape our behaviors and I love working with teens and adults to help them identify patterns resulting from past trauma and attachment wounds.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a well researched intervention that assists individuals in understanding how thinking impacts behavior.
My name is Sandra Wilkes, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I attended Brigham Young University’s Master of Social Work (MSW) program specifically because of their focus on clinical therapy. That educational foundation has helped me assist others to facilitate change in their lives, as well as implement changes in my own life. My role is to support others and present skills for my clients, so they can achieve their desired goals. I provide a safe environment so my clients may feel comfortable while working toward those goals.

Theories that direct the interventions we will use and discuss include Solution Focused therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Experiential Therapy.
The wounds that we suffer from are often amplified by the lack of a safe space to share our experiences and ask for support. Having experienced various life challenges, I noticed these safe spaces were difficult to find. Offering this support for others is what I value most.

I utilize therapeutic modalities such as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and IFS (Internal Family Systems) to help my clients achieve their goals.
I believe in the power of healing and growth through connection and self-discovery. In my practice, I work with people of all ages to help them find their inner peace and happiness. I also believe in the importance of balance and slowing down to fully enjoy the human experience. Life can be hectic and overwhelming at times, but taking a step back to breathe and appreciate the present moment can make all the difference. Together, we can work towards finding that balance and creating a brighter future.

My primary practices include EFT (Emotionally-Focused Couples Therapy), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Narrative Therapy, IFS, ACT, and, of course, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
I have been working as a Marriage & Family Therapist for over a decade now, and it has truly been the privilege of a lifetime! I believe my clients have everything they need within themselves to heal, find meaning, and thrive, but we all need support, connection, and collaboration to grow perspective and make lasting changes. I see individuals, couples, and family relationships, ranging from adolescence through adulthood. I work from several approaches and do my best to tailor therapy to my clients’ personalities, temperaments, and functional abilities.

I often use CBT interventions to help clients learn skills and gain insight.
Hi, I am Brian. I look forward to working with you and offering tangible hope to hold onto. I have primarily focused in two areas of therapy: couples and children. However, I have deep empathy for those going through grief, domestic violence, conflict with faith, and traumatic experiences. Whether you are a couple, individual, or parent and child coming into therapy, I will provide a space to listen and help you process your concerns. Together we will determine what the best approach to therapy will be for your desired goals and make a plan to reach that goal with me or a therapist that is the best fit for you.

As an integrative counselor, I embrace a hope-based philosophy built on four theoretical pillars: humanistic, psychoanalytic, cognitive behavioral, and postmodern theory.
My desire to be a fellow traveler on a client's therapeutic journey is seeded in my first-hand knowledge of the healing benefits of a trusting, counseling relationship. As participants in the human experience, we endeavor and triumph. We face traumas and adversity that shape our views, and negatively influence the present day and our hopes for the future. We have fears and anxiety, which halt our progress and stifle our joy and inner peace.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists

How does cognitive behavioral therapy work?

Cognitive behavioral therapy works by exploring how your thoughts affect your emotions and experiences. CBT helps you identify distortions in your thinking. For example, you may tend to jump to the worst case scenario catastrophizing or think in extremes (all-or-nothing thinking). A therapist can teach you how to push back against those thoughts to ultimately change your feelings and behavior for the better. They can also provide coping skills to better deal with stressors and challenges.

When do I know to seek treatment with cognitive behavioral therapy?

It’s reasonable to consider cognitive behavioral therapy if you struggle to manage difficult emotions or behaviors to such an extent that you are not getting the most out of life on a day-to-day basis. If you want a shorter term, concrete, skills-based approach, CBT is a great option. (By contrast, other types of therapy may devote more time to exploring your past and its effects.) The decision to seek CBT also depends on the condition you’re treating; CBT is an effective treatment for anxiety, depression, trauma, and many other disorders.

How can I find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else?

To find a cognitive behavioral therapist for someone else, you may want to begin by discussing the person’s problem, researching cognitive behavioral therapy, and assessing whether the approach is the right fit. You could then reach out to a few cognitive behavioral therapists in this directory, explain the scenario, have a consultation with those available, and determine who could be a good match.

Why is CBT such a popular form of therapy?

CBT has become a popular form of therapy because it is effective and accessible. Robust research has demonstrated that CBT is an effective treatment for many mental health conditions. And CBT can be learned in relatively few sessions, which means that many people can engage in the process, afford it, and see results quickly. It involves learning concrete skills such as disputing unhelpful thoughts; these skills can also be taught and spread widely.
