Joelle Burkett, LSPE Joelle Burkett is a Licensed Senior Psychological Examiner in Tennessee who has been practicing since 1998. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Tennessee and her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Austin Peay State University. Joelle received her license as a Psychological Examiner and her Senior Psychological Examiner license from the State of Tennessee. Joelle has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution focused Therapy and Trauma Focused Therapy.

I graduated from East Tennessee State University with a master's degree in counseling in 2016. I obtained my Licensed Professional Counselor, Mental Health Service Provider licensure in 2018. I have worked with children, teens and adults with a myriad of mental health conditions and life stressors in multiple settings, including outpatient, Intensive outpatient, in-home counseling/case management, crisis and residential treatment facilities. I have a passion for helping people live fulfilling and quality lives, regardless of life circumstances.

Justin Hall is a licensed professional counselor with a mental health service provider designation and over a decade of experience in the helping professions. He is a Knoxville native, and he obtained his Master’s degree in Counseling from the University of Tennessee. Justin has been a successful psychotherapist in outpatient, hospital, residential and crisis settings; providing services to individuals and couples. He is experienced with and is absolutely driven in helping his clients address depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. Justin writes letters for emotional support animals.

I know that change can be hard, and that making the decision to call a therapist is difficult. I believe that we are all capable and deserving of living our best life, and that feeling safe and supported makes it easier to make those changes. Life can be messy, and I am here to help. I have a passion for helping others, and am grateful I get to be a part of that change process. I utilize an individual approach to meet the needs of each client, and want each client to feel heard, valued, and understood.

My primary goal in working with clients is to build a trusting and transparent relationship where together we can explore the relationship they have with self, important people in their lives, and the unique environments they navigate. This means my approach is insight-driven and built on the belief that self-knowledge is an empowering tool needed to create a deeper understanding of patterns, emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. VIRTUAL VISITS-Telehealth. We specialize in sessions via the internet on high encrypted, Hipaa Compliant systems (similar to FaceTime, Skype, etc.) It allows for same day sessions for clients who are not able to make it into one of our physical locations. Clients can use their phones, tablets, laptops, and PC's. We are a professional counseling firm with experienced counselors in Sexual Abuse, Relationship/Marital Counseling, Family Counseling, Codependency Counseling, Gender Identity, Incarceration/Probation Counseling, and specialize in Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counseling for adults and teens, as well as Trauma and PTSD.

I have worked with adolescents, adults and 65 and up patients for years. Have also worked in juvenile and adult court in the past as well as in intensive outpatient and in mental health at a hospital setting. I attended the University of Tennessee and graduated in 1997 with my Masters in Social Work. I have experience with trauma, depression, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, anxiety disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder. I work with Cognitive processing therapy, Cognitive Behavior therapy, Mindfulness, Exposure therapy, and behavioral therapy as well as couple's therapy.

One of my favorite quotes from Alice in Wonderland is: "It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then." When we feel stuck in our world, it is so hard to see past our pain and frustration. My goal as a therapist is to guide clients down an intentional path of balance and healing. Our thoughts can be so powerful. Negative ones hold us captive and keep us in the dark, but positive thoughts have the ability to transform us.
