Hi! I’m Aracely, I first want to commend you in taking the first step in creating positive change for yourself. Let me first start by telling you about my clinical style. It is very hands on, I will push you, encourage you, keep you accountable, strengthen you all while assisting you in accomplishing the goals you have set for yourself. During our work together, I will also provide you with a safe, non-judgmental environment so you can feel free to share what has been ruminating in your mind. If you are sick and tired about feeling unhappy about situations, experiences and or people, I am thrilled to help support you in this.

I love working with teens and pre-teens. If you have tried everything you can think of to help your teen and they are still struggling, it’s not your fault. It doesn't mean defeat when you ask for help, it means you are smart and you know your child deserves better. Being a teenager is hard. There’s so much pressure from parents, coaches, friends, romantic interests, teachers, and an enormous amount of pressure they put on themselves. They want someone to talk to as they figure out who they are and who they want to be. It can be difficult to be vulnerable and friends often have well-meaning, but misguided advice.

My areas of speciality include chronic shame and low self-esteem, attachment trauma, CPTSD, women's empowerment and empowered dating, anxiety, depression, and escapist or numbing behaviors. Many of us are living disconnected from ourselves, believing we are deeply flawed and broken. Unresolved trauma and present day mental health challenges can leave us feeling hopeless and deeply insecure. In therapy with me, we will explore and challenge these beliefs to help you step into the fullness of who you are. As someone who has walked this path before, I deeply understand the nuanced experience of pain, shame, healing, and growth.

Do you work in a highly competitive industry like entertainment or tech? Feel a constant need to perform well and prove your worth? You may be looking for a therapist who understands the stress and anxiety that comes with the constant comparison, self-doubt, and pressure to excel that you experience. In spite of your achievements, you may battle some depression and low self esteem. If you are similar to other high achievers I treat, you may also be grappling with people-pleasing, self-criticism, or confusion about your identity and self-worth. Trauma from childhood or other losses may make it even harder to feel good in your skin.

Change is constant. Whether with work, personal relationships, or society in general, everything is always changing, evolving - moving forward. Sometimes the tools or thoughts we use to cope with the ever-changing situations are out dated and leave us feeling frustrated, fearful, or even overwhelmed. In recognizing this, it is time to update our thoughts and coping skills so we can move forward and grow away from fears, low self esteem, or "stuck" feelings. Hypnosis is a safe, effective Holistic tool, with a positive approach to overcoming the fears/challenges holding you back from the success you desire and deserve.

Growing up in either a high-conflict home or as a “latchkey kid,” you took on the role of a mini adult. You learned to not take up space. If you did, you were a confidante to a parent, or achieved to distract from the conflict at home and to earn affection and attention. As an adult, you feel anxious constantly, walking on eggshells, people-pleasing and feeling responsible for others’ emotions. Despite being high-achieving, you struggle with low self-esteem and never feeling good enough. Therapy can help you heal wounds around self-worth, increase self-esteem, set boundaries and find balance rooted in a deep sense of confidence.

As a creative woman, you struggle with feeling confident. You know you want to make a change but you’re not sure how. Maybe you’re struggling with deeply rooted issues that make it hard to move forward in life, or how other people perceive you. Perhaps low self-worth makes it difficult to express yourself creatively. You worry that the way you feel about yourself keeps you from living the life you really want. And you don’t feel like the kind of woman you want to be. As a creative, you feel like you're failing and the confidence you have in your relationships is eroding.

I specialize in working with young adults who deal with self esteem, mood, and relationship issues.
In working with adolescents and young adults, I often see them struggle with unconscious pattern behaviors that relate to early experience. The unspoken or unprocessed trauma or negative experience can affect people for years. My role in therapy is to support clients in raising awareness of their feelings, thoughts, and needs, which can help them make healthier decisions and achieve self-actualization.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
