I work from a Narrative Therapy approach to counseling which is a helpful tool to assist clients to look at their lives critically and holistically while processing the changes they want in their lives and relationships. I work collaboratively to unearth themes of problems AND strengths, the strategies my clients have already attempted to work through their problems, strengthen self-identity and awareness, and explore desired life changes by breaking them into manageable tasks. I also work systemically with couples and families to build more supportive & connected relationships.

My goal is to allow client to openly address their levels of fear, depression and issues relating to their disorder. Many factors from past encounters result in high levels of depression and mental health conditions. My goal is to allow my client to address these fears and use my services as a three stage process to function independently with the least amount of medication and therapeutic interventions as possible. My overall goal is to address condition using alternative therapeutic problem solving interventions, while at the same time helping them to make changes based on their current condition. More Than Just Talk....... If you haven't been in psychotherapy before, you may not realize that the traditional approach to treatment is to educate the client about their conditions and teach them how to change their own feelings and behaviors. Although this approach can be very helpful, it is usually a long process that depends a great deal on the individual's courageous persistence. Moreover, a change in behavior and belief does not necessarily resolve the history of negative experiences fueling such things as depression and anxiety. My client and service focus is on individuals or entities seeking treatment, psychological evaluations, risk assessment, expert witness representation, and related services for sexual misconduct, sexual abuse, sexual victimization, or trauma. Other areas of specialty include assessment of violence; standards of professional practice; program development; supervision and training of forensic practitioners; treatment or supervision of professionals and clergy with sexual misconduct; pretrial defendants; juveniles delinquency and sexual offending; and supervision or training of clinical personnel involved in various relevant psychological, civil, or criminal justice interventions. Also, I have extensive training in treatment of general psychological conditions as well as providing psychological and psycho-educational evaluations.

My office setting is relaxed and comfortable, which allows clients the ability to open up and talk. I work with couples to rebuild their lines of communication and to focus on each other in a non-combative manner, this creates a bond that will strengthen your relationship. Families and individuals can work through conflict, trauma and past issues that may be causing crisis and disruptions in their lives.

Sometimes personal thoughts and feelings about life can be upsetting, disturbing, seem incomprehensible or even unchangeable. Over time these kinds of experiences can erode our personal sense of vitality, meaningfulness, freedom, and overall wellbeing. Although we know that some suffering is a normal part of life, suffering needlessly or endlessly simply does not have to be. In my office I provide a quiet, comfortable, respectful, and very confidential atmosphere.

In a confidential and compassionate environment, we provide evidence-based, counseling/therapy services to individuals, couples, families, children, teens, and adults for a variety of issues. We also provide neuro-psychological testing and evaluation that may be needed for a variety of reasons: determination of a possible learning disability (AHDH, Autism), fitness for medical procedures (bariatric), Fitness for duty/Lethal weapons testing (Act 235/Act 120) .
