About
Dr. Heinrichs is the founder and CEO of Ivyland Counseling Center. We are a full service community mental health center that has assembled a team of therapists from a broad array of disciplines and treatment approaches. We approach each client holistically, with a focus on addressing the whole person, not just the symptoms. Since effective therapy always begins with the connection between the therapist and client, we do our best to get you to the therapist that will fit you and your needs best. Visit us at www.IvylandCounselingCenter.com to learn more about our services and staff.
My personal approach to treatment is from an existential model. Meaningfulness and understanding why we are here has always been the deepest basis for me. I believe in the connections from our families and try to explore how those relationships are still impacting us now.
In addition to having over 20 years of clinical experience providing direct treatment to a wide variety of clients/problems, I am a university professor, advanced field trainer, and researcher in the field of psychology. For a complete listing of my professional activities, please see my vita on www.IvylandCounselingCenter.com
