It can be profoundly painful to embody an identity that our culture strives to suppress, whether you’re queer, trans, have a larger body, or otherwise do not fit societal expectations. Too often we are pressured to conform ourselves to narrow and ultimately unattainable standards of who we should be and how we should live. Maybe you feel inadequate, ashamed, alone, or even guilty about the attraction you feel, the body you live in, or questioning your beliefs. You have frequent thoughts that things will never get better. You spend every day trying to keep it together, but you just cannot do it anymore. You don’t have to feel this way.

Crossnore Communities for Children offers services to outpatient clients utilizing a trauma-informed model of care. We provide each client with a complete clinical assessment to ensure they receive personalized services and the best care for their needs. Our clients work with a therapist in a consistent, structured, and collaborative environment that promotes growth and healing.

We are a diverse practice with locations in Lake Norman and Winston-Salem that provides psychotherapy in person or online, psychological testing, consulting services, and clinical supervision in NC. We serve children ages 3 and up, families, teens, couples and adults. We also provide educational consulting for 504/IEP planning. Our organizational consulting services help leadership teams grow and learn and our private practice consulting helps clinicians ready to take the leap into private practice. Our clinical supervision services are available to LCMHCA's, LCSWA's, and LPA's in NC.

I have worked with clients impacted by depression, anxiety, trauma-related issues, and relationship challenges affecting their home and work life. I believe growth starts by looking closely at family of origin dynamics, the impact of early attachment, and personality development.

Maleah Griggs is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker( LCSW) who has over 6 years of experience offering collaborative, person-centered counseling. She specializes in assisting adult clients to better manage their anxiety, depression, substance use, self-esteem, trauma, life transitions, stress management, emotional regulation skills, and more. Maleah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Colorado and went on to earn her Master of Social Work from the University of Kansas.
