I have been in private practice for 20 years & clinical practice for 33 years. My clients are individuals, couples and older teens seeking personal growth from issues stemming from trauma, sex addiction and substance abuse. Those I treat are often also dealing with depression and anxiety, and I have extensive experience with law enforcement and PTSD and those healing from childhood trauma as well. I am level I certified in EMDR and incorporate multiple modalities into my work. I have considerable experience with those dealing with personality disorders within their family dynamics and relationships. Couples are a specialty.

As a clinical therapist licensed in both Michigan and Kentucky. I have undergone extensive training and education to develop a deep understanding of human behavior, mental health, and social systems. This Knowledge allows me to approach therapy from a holistic perspective, considering the various factors that may be impacting your well-being.

My goal as a therapist is to encourage clients to attain their greatest potential, to help them transform their lives to being filled with increased ease and balance, and to empower them to recognize their internal competencies that they may access as coping skills for handling the complexities of daily challenges.

These days people have more difficulties to face and fewer resources to assist in making sense of what is going on around them. Our personal goals are hindered by our own demons or the damage of situations surrounded by hurt and disappointment outside of our control. Life is a series of transitions - some peaks and some valleys. I find these valleys often are a result of internal conflict and external events or pressure. I believe that we all have an authentic self and much of the internal conflict comes from living inauthentically, which develops into maladaptive behaviors. There’s “the way it seems” and “the way it is,” and sometimes we all need someone to remind us of “the way it is.” That’s where I come in - my goals are to work TOGETHER with you to navigate a new path toward living your most authentic life and finding inner peace and confidence to be that person.

I have many years of experience working with early childhood trauma and severe, persistent mental illness, varying from ages of 5 years to 70+. My goal is to empower and advocate for positive change within you, as the individual, and the system as a whole. The place that we will create together is a safe and judgement free space. I work through an Existential foundation, to help those I work with seek meaning and purpose, with skills built from experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, all within the context of a trauma-informed approach.

As the owner and founder of The Revolution in Counseling I have sought to understand, develop, and implement the most effective and innovative therapies in the field. I work to treat problems at their core to enable real and sustainable change. I have treated a wide range of mental health disorders, but I primarily specialize in treating Trauma, Anxiety, PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, Sex Addiction, Personality Disorders, Betrayal Trauma, Co-Dependency, and Families with Addiction.

I have practiced social work for 20 years, most of which has involved children and adults with histories of trauma and significant treatment needs. I have approximately 4 years of experience with direct treatment of children and adults in a therapeutic practice or setting and obtained my LCSW to be able to independently practice. I enjoy working with children, adults, families, and couples with regard to complex treatment needs such as trauma, conflict resolution, anxiety and mood disorders, grief, and developmental issues affecting individuals and families such as learning disorders and Autism Spectrum Disorder.

The restrictions of social distancing has further isolated individuals who are seeking support to manage their overwhelming psycho emotional state.
