Lauren became a holistic therapist in 2009 and began her counseling career providing crisis care to families involved in the child welfare system. She remained involved in trauma treatment while transitioning to the Maui school system to work with students with learning disabilities. She cared for adults in home and community settings, as well, and in 2019, she became licensed to provide medical treatment to individuals with autism. She continues to serve individuals with disabilities, teach parenting skills, and offer therapy to children and adults seeking to resolve problems around stress, mood, relationships, and purpose.

Hi! My name is Marissa, and I am truly excited to embark on a journey of growth, understanding, and support. I work on empowering individuals to enhance their emotional well-being through the application of evidence-based practices. Our sessions will be founded on collaboration as we work together to achieve meaningful progress. I am licensed in both Hawai'i and California, specializing in adolescents, families, and young adults.

As a neuropsychologist, I provide neuropsychological assessments, diagnostic services, and treatment to a wide range of clients, from questions about a child's learning difficulties to concerns about a senior's memory that has started to impact their daily living. I also provide a wide range of evaluations for legal related issues from Independent Medical Examinations, fitness for duty to legal issues; such as testamentary capacity. I approach each person with care and consideration for their emotional well-being, cultural background, age, and life experiences that may affect cognitive functioning. My goal is to provide a comprehensive and quality evaluation product whether that be for an individual client or third-party. My endeavor is to give the client the information they need to develop the best treatment plan for neuropsychological health or legal outcome. An appropriate diagnosis is dependent upon a good history, interviewing family members, teachers and review of records as appropriate. I strive to develop a treatment plan tailored to the individual with written reports appropriate for the consumer, be they parents, adult children, physicians, or lawyers.

We serve clients with a wide range of needs, ensuring specialized and integrated care given our experienced group of multidisciplinary providers. We serve those struggling with AD/HD, learning disorders, giftedness, adjustment stress, anxiety, trauma, and depression. We also offer brief workshops and therapies to provide targeted skills as needed (ADHD training, anxiety, EMDR, testing, medication).

I am an anger management specialist, certified by the National Association for Anger Management Specialists as well as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC). I am also a certified EMDR therapist.
