For as long as I can remember, I’ve always had a passion for listening to and honoring people’s stories. I took an electric approach to my education and studied psychology, biology, social work, gender studies, and anthropology to better understand people’s experiences from a variety of different perspectives. This impacts my approach as a therapist in that I think therapy can be for anyone and everyone, and the therapeutic process can look a lot of different ways. It is also very important to me to take into account each person’s needs, preferences, history, culture, and various identities in our work together.
I like to help clients learn how to regulate their emotions, improve their relationships, validate themselves, live by their values, challenge distressing thoughts, and process traumatic experiences. I also use a systems perspective and have a passion for helping clients notice and dismantle internalized sexism, racism, ableism, classism, and homophobia.
In addition to working with individuals, I work with couples using the Gottman Method. This approach is best suited for couples seeking to improve their communication and manage conflict, rather than those struggling with an active divorce or coparenting. I truly enjoy helping couples strengthen their relationship to be authentic, supportive, and fulfilling.
