I received my Master's Degree in Direct Practice Social Work from Arizona State University with an emphasis on children and families. I am currently one of many counselors working at Arizona Family Institute. I have had many valuable experiences in working with individuals addressing crisis, abuse, depression, anxiety, tension, neglect, adjustment, addiction, and especially trauma.

In her high school senior English class Tonya was given an assignment to research colleges and majors. Through this assignment she learned about the field of social work and realized that she could combine her love of children and helping others into a career. This led Tonya on the road to getting her Social Work degree. She graduated with her AA degree in Social Work and then attended Arizona State University where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Social Work.

Little is more amazing, complex, and sometimes unsettling, than human thought, emotion, and behavior. This interest, coupled with a love of working with people in a direct and meaningful way, is why I work as a counselor. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Ottawa University and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Phoenix. My training background and approach to therapy is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and in Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Jannalee honors the internal wisdom within each of us and helps clients connect to their own intuition.

I treat both OCD and Trauma. TRAUMA: Do you feel stuck, unable to move forward? Does it seem like your reactions are unpredictable or that your emotions are overwhelming? When you have experienced trauma, either in your past or present, it can affect your body and mind. You have the capacity to heal, you just need some tools and understanding. OCD: Do you have unwanted intrusive repetitive thoughts? Do you do things to try to get rid of the thoughts or to satisfy the thought? Do you wish you could stop? I can teach you skill that will allow you to live a values-based life where OCD does not take over.
