I treat both OCD and Trauma. TRAUMA: Do you feel stuck, unable to move forward? Does it seem like your reactions are unpredictable or that your emotions are overwhelming? When you have experienced trauma, either in your past or present, it can affect your body and mind. You have the capacity to heal, you just need some tools and understanding. OCD: Do you have unwanted intrusive repetitive thoughts? Do you do things to try to get rid of the thoughts or to satisfy the thought? Do you wish you could stop? I can teach you skill that will allow you to live a values-based life where OCD does not take over.
I take a values-based approach to help you understand yourself and learn how to make changes to improve your life. I take a caring, nonjudgmental, but curious, approach when helping you work through trauma or OCD. When working with trauma I use EMDR, NARM and an IFS-based approach. When treating OCD, I am trained in ERP, ICBT, and RF-ERP.
My love of life helps me lead clients to find their strengths and sometimes laugh along the way. I believe the best therapy is collaborative, where you learn how life experiences have affected you and your learned responses. Understanding this will help you make changes necessary to improve your life.
