You look successful and capable on the outside, but inside you feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or unsure of who you are anymore. Many of my clients are high-functioning NYC professionals who have spent years people-pleasing, overthinking, and prioritizing others to stay safe or succeed. They come to therapy because this way of living is no longer sustainable—it’s affecting their sense of self, clarity, and relationships. They want to feel grounded again, make decisions with confidence, and reconnect with who they are beneath the roles they’ve been holding.

You might be carrying a long history of coping on your own- managing an eating disorder, trauma symptoms, chronic anxiety, or attachment patterns that leave you feeling uncertain and exhausted. Many of my clients are insightful, self-aware, and still unsure how to shift the internal chaos that others can’t see. If anxiety, trauma, or the pressure of daily tasks is overwhelming you, I help artists, performers, creatives, and sensitive high-achievers in NYC feel grounded and connected to themselves again. Your symptoms have roots-and they helped you survive. You deserve care that helps you understand them rather than fight with them.

My clients are deep feelers and hard thinkers — people who are self-aware enough to know something isn’t working, but can’t quite figure out why they keep ending up in the same patterns. They’re the ones who hold everything together on the outside while quietly exhausted on the inside. Overthinkers. People-pleasers. Perfectionists. People navigating anxiety, relationship patterns, or experiences they’ve never quite had words for. They’re often high-functioning and completely worn out by it. They don’t need someone to hand them a worksheet. They need someone to actually sit with them.

You're feeling stuck but may not be as far behind as you think. Life is just genuinely hard right now. You’re managing work, relationships, and expectations that would exhaust anyone, and somewhere along the way you stopped feeling like yourself. Maybe you’re anxious, burned out, or overwhelmed. You don’t need to have hit rock bottom to deserve support — feeling stuck and running on empty is enough.

Reaching out for help can be daunting– you want to know that there is someone in the room with compassion, understanding, and unconditional positive regard. You might feel trapped in cycles of depression, anxiety, impulsivity, shame, dissociation, or self doubt. Particularly for individuals navigating family estrangement or attachment trauma, connecting to your authentic sense of self can feel elusive. I provide a trauma-informed framework for people seeking to better understand themselves– whether healing past trauma, exploring LGBTQIA2S+ identities, navigating open relationships, or integrating a psychedelic experience.

Maybe you feel like you're not enough, no matter how much you accomplish. Maybe you're a therapist that identifies as a people pleaser or super responsible eldest child, and still imagine everyone is always mad at you? Maybe you have difficulty with binge or emotional eating, or are really critical of your body. Therapy is about giving voice to our unconscious, complicated feelings that up until now were just reactions that came out sideways. Together, we get to know the real you better, so that you can make decisions that align with your wants and needs, be a better participant in your relationships, and live more authentically.

Creating an empathetic, nonjudgmental and collaborative space for growth and healing is my primary objective as a therapist. Who you are and what you have experienced is unique, and so will be your path to healing. I offer both short-term treatment to focus on a specific issue in your life, or longer-term talk and somatic therapy to delve into deeper issues that impact your relationships or mental and emotional wellbeing. I am both trained in and provide Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapies.

I strongly believe that talk therapy, in a safe, supportive and challenging environment, has the power to transform lives and improve mental pathways. Whether you are in crisis, dealing with trauma, or seeking tools to help process an ever-changing and complicated world, my commitment is the same: I collaborate with my clients as we link thoughts and feelings and achieve insights into their behaviors and patterns. But the goal is not only to understand, but also to transform and grow.

Life rarely unfolds the way we imagine it will. Even when things look stable on the outside, something inside can feel off or painful. Many people come to therapy during moments of transition, loss, or quiet confusion, when old ways of coping no longer fit.
I take a client-centered, evidence-based approach to therapy grounded in my training as a social worker. My work is informed by a systems perspective, which means understanding people within the context of their families, relationships, work, communities, and culture. What we experience internally is often connected to forces beyond us.

I believe true healing starts from the inside out. Rather than only focusing on changing thoughts or beliefs, I guide clients in working with the body and nervous system to address the deeper roots of wounding. Many people find that while traditional talk therapy can provide insight, it doesn’t always create lasting change. By working to release trauma stored in the body, we promote fundamental healing that helps you live in alignment with your true self.

I work with queer and BIPOC adults who are tired of performing competence while feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected underneath. You may be highly capable, driven, and successful, yet still rely on shape-shifting, self-abandonment, or overfunctioning in ways that once helped you survive. Now those patterns are creating strain in your body, your relationships, and your daily life. You want a deeper kind of healing—one that helps you feel more clear, grounded, more honest, and more authentically yourself.

Much of my work focuses on men’s relational and emotional well-being, especially those who present as high-functioning while quietly struggling. My clients often initially measure their identity or worth through success, responsibility, or likability within community. Beneath that, hidden shame, fear of rejection, or long-standing patterns of people-pleasing have left them feeling anxious, disconnected, or unknown. I also support gay, bisexual, and queer men navigating the tension between authenticity and attachment, exploring how early experiences of conditional belonging shaped the ways they relate to themselves and others

Many people come to therapy feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or limited by familiar patterns in their emotional life, relationships, or understanding of themselves. In our work together, you'll begin to notice thoughts, feelings, and patterns that often sit just outside awareness. Therapy opens space for greater emotional clarity and more meaningful ways of relating to yourself and others. I bring a steady, curious attention to our work, helping you explore and make sense of your inner experience and what lies beneath the surface — not just relief from symptoms, but a genuine shift that stays with you long after the sessions end.

We each carry a unique and ever-evolving narrative that shapes how we connect with ourselves, with others, and with the world. Therapy can help us create meaning from those stories. Together, we will explore alternate narratives about your past and present relationships, experiences, and identities, drawing on untold or overlooked strengths and resources. My practice is grounded in relational psychodynamic therapy, with the understanding that growth happens within the context of supportive relationships. Our goal will be to integrate your past and present into a healthier and more affirming narrative.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
