The patients who benefit the most from working with me are usually struggling with feelings of depression and/or anxiety, often associated with problems such as insomnia or recurrent physical symptoms due to stress. They want to understand what is happening to them and which treatment options might help them. Getting balanced information about the risks and benefits of treatment is usually a priority. My patients are often trying to decide whether to use medication to control their symptoms, or psychotherapy, or both. I am Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry and have been practicing since 2005. I completed my residency from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts and my Fellowship in Addictions from the Robert Johnson Wood Foundation. In 2014, I was featured in SJ Magazine as one of New Jersey’s top psychiatrists. I have experience working with adults as well as adolescents suffering from both psychiatric diagnosis and substance use disorders and have extensive experience working in both out-patient and in-patient settings.

Every patient is different. I focus on improving self esteem, relationships, love life and work life. I do not use only one theory. Treatment draws from all sorts of different theoretical approaches. I prescribe medications when warranted by the clinical situation. Each patient and his or her improvement is very important to me. Achieving a sense of happiness and self worth is critical to a fulfilling life. I work with people from age 15 and up.

After 24 year of service I retired from the US Army as a MSG / E8 in 2013.
