My psychiatric experience includes providing services in psychiatric emergency rooms, inpatient populations and with incarcerated individuals. This work has helped me to develop a perspective on the challenges individual face, and how I can best engage patients/ clients in wellness care. My goal is to encourage each patient to take care of their mental health by discussing it in a way that eliminates the stigma attached to seeking help. My mission is to provide quality care in a collaborative, supportive, and judgment-free environment.
Hello! I am available to help those struggling with life transitions, relationships, their mood, anxiety, thoughts, family relationships, loneliness, academic issues, ADHD, developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
I am a Board Certified psychiatrist and have been practicing for 41 years. I have expertise and extensive training in interpersonal and dynamic psychotherapy, and in psychopharmacology. I believe in working with patients to develop a treatment plan that is uniquely appropriate to them, and I devote the time necessary to provide the care patients need. And to provide maximum therapeutic benefit with minimum negative side effects, I take a conservative approach to medication, and get to know you well before prescribing.
Have you tried everything except medications to help yourself, but still feel rudderless navigating this journey we call life? Reached a crossroads, expected or not, that you realized you were not prepared for, or needed help with, without any clear guidance on how to process your emotions, and/or difficulty maintaining your composure, or contrarily, found yourself with consistent difficulties controlling your impulses? Someone I could help might recognize such issues in themselves, not know where to turn, but above all else, be willing to engage, participate, and work towards becoming the best version of themselves possible!

We all crave success in our personal and professional lives. The relationship we have with our past or current situation can either debilitate OR completely empower us in taking action forward toward living the ways we truly desire. Each life journey is packed with experiences we often think define us, but it's really how we think now about our past, present, and future that defines us. The best news is that every individual is fully capable and worthy of creating their dream life. Life Coaching offers practical concepts and action-based tools for individuals to solve their problems, define their future, and take action.

I am a Harvard-trained, Harvard-affiliated, board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. I strongly believe that the best psychiatric care is centered on the whole person, not just on a diagnosis or a specific medication. I provide weekly therapy and work with patients to determine if medications can be of help. I do not believe that everyone needs a medication, but they can be useful in treating particular psychiatric symptoms; I will work with you in order to find the best treatment modality that meets your goals and needs.
I am a Harvard-trained psychiatrist offering online visits to patients across the state of Massachusetts. I most commonly work with patients who have struggled with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder and PTSD. I also work with young adults with these conditions and their families to find treatment solutions and ways parents might support their child.
DR. LOCKE IS CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS. The patients who benefit the most from working with me are usually struggling with feelings of depression and anxiety, often associated with problems such as insomnia or recurrent physical symptoms due to stress. They want to understand what is happening to them and which treatment options might help them. Getting balanced information about the risks and benefits of treatment is usually a priority. Often my patients are trying to decide whether to use medication to control their symptoms, or psychotherapy, or both.

I see most patients for psychotherapy (talk therapy), and some for a combination of psychotherapy and medication management.
