Hello! My name is Dr.Ruth Rayikanti, MD. I am an SF native, resident, & currently working as a Psychiatrist & a consultant. I believe the key to being a solid Psychiatrist is to be a human first before any professional degrees or titles. Hence, my most memorable experiences have been with one-to-one patient interactions and just being in that moment as two human beings above anything else. Evidence based treatment medicine is actively integrated into my practice. Highly tailored care with services are fulfilling and meaningful components of my practice. I embrace a collaborative approach with my patients. I want to provide knowledge and experience so as to empower my patients to make informed decisions about their available treatment options. My style is grounded in the mind-body connection by blending mindfulness, behaviors, and holistic interventions with medications.

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety disorders including OCD, PTSD, social anxiety, panic disorder, specific phobias, and generalized anxiety. I also have expertise in treating a variety of other psychiatric illnesses including depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, and psychotic disorders. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Florida, my medical training at the University of Florida College of Medicine, and my residency training in psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania.

I am a psychiatric nurse practitioner based in the San Francisco Bay Area. I offer virtual visits for adults residing in California. I provide psychiatric consultation, diagnostic evaluation, medication management, and psychotherapy. I have extensive experience and treat most psychiatric conditions (ADHD and substance use disorders included). I aim to put you in the driver's seat in your life. You deserve to be there - not your moods, thoughts, impulses, relationships, substances, etc. I am kind, supportive, and give specific, direct advice. I was trained in CBT (cognitive behavior therapy) by the Beck Institute.

My practice is designed for individuals who have been struggling and frustrated by an inability to achieve their goals in life. Together, we will work on recovery, growth, and flourishing. I have advanced training in biological psychiatry and psychotherapy. My philosophy on psychopharmacology is a thoughtful and minimalistic approach. We will use medications to enhance your own mind and body’s own healing powers to reassert themselves.

Sometimes psychiatric symptoms are only the tip of the iceberg, so I am dedicated to investigating and solving underlying issues rather than provide short-term bandaids. I also understand that active symptoms are not only distressing but can consume valuable time of our lives, so safe and timely relief of symptoms is just as crucial to treatment. I incorporate various therapy elements and medications, with a focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for anxiety, depression, stress management, and trauma recovery.

Dr. Griffith specializes in providing psychiatric care for men and women aged 18 and older. She completed her undergraduate degree from the University of California Irvine, her medical training at Boston University School of Medicine, and completed her postgraduate psychiatry training at the UCLA-San Fernando Valley Psychiatry Program where she served as Chief Resident in her final year of training. She has worked as an attending at the VA and in county mental health facilities. Her clinical interests are psychotic, mood, trauma-related, substance-use, and adjustment disorders.

I take an integrative approach to treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma related disorders, psychotic disorders, substance use disorders, psycho-oncologic and end of life issues. I have special training and expertise in treating mental health symptoms and disorders relating to pregnancy/postpartum, perimenopause and PMDD. I also have training in a range of psychotherapeutic approaches, including psychoanalytic, Jungian, mindfulness-based, and psychedelic assisted psychotherapy. My last name was previously Hagstrom.
