Sometimes life can be overwhelming. We get anxious or depressed, struggle with low self-esteem or find ourselves repeating the same self-defeating patterns in our relationships. Therapy can help. Whether you're seeking relief from a specific problem or struggling with the vague sense that something in your life just isn't right, I offer a safe and non-judgemental space where we can work through these issues.
I have a professional and specialist interest in working with attachment issues, complex trauma, and chronic health conditions often neglected by the healthcare system, such as ME/CFS.

I am particularly interested in low self esteem and shame which I find underly many outward presentations. I also offer therapy for those with long term physical health problems and enjoy working with the mind-body connection.

Hi, I'm a BACP-registered integrative counsellor and psychosexual and relationship therapist. I work from a humanistic, person-centred approach, integrating elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. This means I focus on the here and now, while also exploring past experiences and how they may influence your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours today. Open and honest communication can be particularly difficult with those closest to us, often due to fear of judgment or misunderstanding. In therapy, we can gently explore these feelings together, at a pace that feels right for you.

As a person-centred counsellor based in north London, I believe that talking can help us feel less isolated with our problems and thoughts. Sometimes it’s difficult to talk to family and friends; you may not wish to cause worry or distress or you may not want their advice and opinion. I provide an understanding , non-judgemental and safe space where you will be heard and where you can bring issues and concerns that may be preventing you from being who you want to be and where you want to be in your life. I offer an initial assessment, which will enable us to see if we connect and whether you feel comfortable within the counsel

I am a senior NHS clinical psychotherapist in CAMHS (child and adolescent) as well as adult services. I work with attachment disruption and attachment trauma, neurodiversity, low self-confidence and self esteem. Many young people attack themselves unjustly, and struggle with harsh inner criticism. Vulnerability to shame can pose real challenges, leading to self criticism, self judgement - but concealing it from others. Which leads to anxiety and stress. Understanding how this happens can help. Learning why we respond so harshly to ourselves - can help ease the mental health load.

There are times in our life when we can feel sad, anxious, overwhelmed or unfufilled. Therapy can provide support through challenging times, or a space for exploration of patterns that cause us to feel stuck and unhappy. I offer a warm, open and non judgemental space where we can explore your unique needs together at your own pace.

Many women and gender-diverse people come to therapy carrying the weight of codependent patterns—prioritising others’ needs and emotions over their own, struggling to set boundaries, and feeling responsible for how others feel. These deeply ingrained patterns, shaped by social conditioning and life experiences, can leave us feeling stuck, unseen, and drained.
As a dedicated integrative therapist, I’m passionate about supporting women to break free from these cycles, rebuild their confidence, and create healthier, more balanced relationships. Together, we’ll create space to unlearn harmful habits, reconnect with your authentic self.

My main approach is to encourage you to explore your feelings and take responsibility for your thoughts and actions. As I work in a way that empowers the client, I always work with what you present. Bottled up feelings such as anger, anxiety, grief, jealousy, sadness, shame and pain can become very overwhelming. The opportunity to express them can make it much easier to understand yourself and others. As I acknowledge your feelings and respect you as a person in your own right, you gain self-respect and a sense of being valued. This leads to building trust between counsellor and client, which is an essential part of the process.

Typically, I work with people struggling with anxiety, despair, anger, and shame; who wrestle with guilt, mistrust, addiction, and dissociation; who are self-critical, self-destructive, and trapped in repeated patterns of hurting self/others. Such feelings, behaviours, and patterns of relating often stem from multiple, complex life events and circumstances, including past/present abusive and neglectful relationships, discrimination, bereavement, trauma, gender expectations, parenthood, study/work/financial pressures, and more existential challenges such as one's relationship to meaning, responsibility, authenticity, and mortality.

I love supporting people to grow and heal, to access the resilience needed to face future challenges, so I am no longer needed.
You may need to make sense of a difficult past, manage problems in the present or explore fears about the world we live in. You may take time to feel safe to speak about deep feelings. Perhaps you experience blocks to contentment or have a powerful critical voice that undermines your best efforts, preventing you from thriving.
It can be useful to try to be curious, to notice and name thoughts and feelings as they arise, I will engage with care and without judgment, helping you to do the same.

You might be feeling torn between cultural expectations, family pressures, or a sense of not quite belonging anywhere. Many people I work with feel disconnected from themselves or unsure of who they are becoming. I offer a warm, reflective space where we can explore these experiences together, helping you make sense of your story and move towards a way of living that feels more grounded and true to you.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
Counsellors and Psychotherapists listed in the directory are members of the main professional associations, mainly the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). Most Psychologists in the directory are accredited members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and/or are registered in the Health and Care Professions Council (HPCP).
Providers whose professional membership or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Given that professional memberships are not a statutory requirement for psychotherapists and counsellors in the UK, certain qualified professionals or organisations may choose not to maintain such memberships despite possessing the necessary qualifications. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counsellor?
Counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists can all provide counselling or talking therapy and have credentials and experience that enable them to do so in the UK. Psychologists have earned a degree in psychology and many are members of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and have completed a postgraduate qualification in a specialism. Counsellors and Psychotherapists are not required to have a psychology degree, but to belong to a professional organisation such as the BACP or UKCP, they are required to have completed a training course as well as clinical and supervision hours.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the UK could be between £30 - £60 when seeing a counsellor and £60 - £150 and up when seeing a clinical psychologist. If you have private insurance, your plan may cover some if not all of your sessions. You should contact your insurance provider to determine if they provide coverage for therapy sessions and to determine what, if any, requirements they might have in order for your sessions to be covered, such as a referral from your GP or medical specialist.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
If you are struggling to access therapy due to budget constraints, you could also consider public funded mental health services. The NHS Talking therapies programme offers free of charge counselling for common mental health problems like anxiety and depression. The service is available to anyone registered with a GP, though you do not necessarily need to be referred by your GP and can refer yourself directly to a Talking therapies service. The service will provide different solutions, including group and individual therapy, for a limited number of sessions which are generally up to six.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Therapists who are part of a professional organisation such as the BACP, the UKCP, or BPS are bound by an ethical framework that requires them to uphold a confidentiality agreement. Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship and only under specific circumstances, such as when there has been participation in a criminal act or act of terror, or if there is potential or known harm to the client or others, will a therapist be obligated to break the agreement. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed during the initial consultation.
