My passion for therapy comes from a deeply held belief in the humanistic principles of equality, empathy, and possibility. I believe that everything a client wishes to bring into the therapeutic space is important and relevant. Talking can be a powerful and transformative experience and I am able to work with mental health issues, anger, PTSD, self-harm, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, and physical, emotional and sexual violence. I work with adults across all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds.

Sometimes you want to be heard, truly heard. To have someone to talk to about whatever is on your mind, to be listened to without being judged or told what to do. If you are feeling unheard, anxious, upset or overwhelmed, I am here to listen and help you to explore your feelings, to better understand them and feel more in control. I offer a safe and confidential space where we can explore whatever is troubling you. By exploring your thoughts and feelings, both past and present, I can help you to better understand yourself and to accept and let go of what has been weighing you down, to allow you to move forward.

I am an experienced integrative Counsellor who creates a welcoming and safe space helping you to unravel and explore your thoughts. I will accept clients as they are, empathise, respect without judgement allowing them to lead or walk beside them as they take me to places in their life that they wish to talk about. In the client’s exploration, I believe that, in the right moments and times at their own pace, they will be able to find skills to better help manage their emotions no matter how long they have been driven by it.

Personal challenges occur through every stage of life, and they can be difficult to manage alone. In fact, our emotions can lead us to push others away, and isolate ourselves when we may be most in need. Tuning in to how we feel and asking for support is an important first step, and through an initial session we can understand your feelings and perspective and think together about a way forward; importantly this can be your opportunity to see if I am the right ‘fit’ for you. I seek to create a safe and confidential space, developing a trusting relationship so that together we can approach and reach your goals.

Anxiety and panic attacks; depression or trauma, loss and bereavement; relationship issues and life transitions - we can all face difficulties in our lives. These difficulties can feel painful and often insurmountable. I offer a safe and accepting environment in which you can explore your thoughts and express your feelings without judgement. As we understand and make sense of the difficulties and issues you face, we can open up choices and greater freedom. With choices, change becomes possible and, with it, the opportunity to live a more fulfilling and joyful life. I also work with EMDR to help resolve PTSD, trauma and anxieties.

Many people now have therapy, for different reasons and from a range of backgrounds. You might be feeling overwhelmed and not wanting to handle difficulties without support anymore; or be feeling confused, conflicted and just need help to understand things more clearly. Therapy provides a safe, confidential and consistent space to start exploring some of the things about ourselves that can be difficult to understand. People come with depression, anxiety, family issues, relationship dynamics, trauma or wanting to understand repeated patterns.

I am an Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist, who is a free spirited and creative person. My professional background varies from working with mild to severe adult mental health, to working with special needs and hard to reach children and young people in education. During times of uncertainty surrounding us at the moment, where multiple challenges are thrown in our direction, feeling overwhelmed, out of sync, heightened stressed levels, and increased anxiety are very normal. These feelings may have been apparent beforehand and now feel more intense.

I work on the premise that each person is a unique individual with a capacity for self-actualisation and the ability to make positive changes. From early childhood we learn to adapt to our environment, often at the cost of our unique selves. We may feel as if life is passing by or we get stuck in negative thinking. As we become aware of our beliefs and behaviours, and their impact on how we feel, we could make different choices on how we are in the world.

How can I find a therapist in N21?
Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or postcode; or a provider’s name into the search bar. Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online or over the phone can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your postcode.
What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In many countries, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counsellor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counsellors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
What type of therapist is right for me?
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist, psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counsellor who can offer short-term, targeted support.
Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counsellors. Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.
What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
