I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Special Education Teacher in the State of Texas. I hold a Master's degree from Tarleton State University and I'm trained in Trust Based Relational Intervention-TBRI. I have spent over a decade working with children, teens and adults. Finding the right person to help your child, teen or family can be a difficult process. You are looking for someone with the appropriate training that will be a good fit. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist. I specialize in working with children ages 3-17 and their families. Common concerns include anger, developmental delays, ADD/ADHD, ODD, depression, divorce, grief, abuse, anxiety and social/school issues. I strive to create an environment where children feel safe and accepted so that they may cope, heal and grow.

Over the 40+ years in education, I have taught and assessed students who had cognitive (IQ), learning, attention and behavioral deficits. As a diagnostician, I assessed, wrote and presented Individual Education Plans or 504 Accommodation Plans for each student. I test for cognitive and learning disabilities, reading, dyslexia, math, attention, memory, processing and behavior issues, writing complete reports including Accommodations and parent information sheets about any deficits discovered.

My ideal clients are young adults and teens struggling with confidence and mental health issues, as well as military veterans readjusting to civilian life and young kids in play therapy. They seek a safe space, guidance, and coping skills to overcome their challenges. Their goals include building self-esteem, achieving mental well-being, adapting to civilian life, finding purpose, and improving relationships. They desire to enhance their quality of life, overcome PTSD, express emotions, develop social skills, and foster positive connections.

My hope and purpose as your counselor is to walk with you through your journey of the therapeutic process of increased insight and awareness into your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to build a sense of identity and control. I work with pre-teens and teens in conjunction with their families, as well as, adults, ranging in ages 10-60. I also provide family therapy to promote positive parenting skills, including behavior management techniques and effective communication tools within the family.

We capture these moments not realizing they're finite, and anticipate commencement celebrations punctuated by summer plans.
