Working in public education - 10 years as a teacher, and 9+ years as a school counselor - I have had opportunities to foster growth not only among my student-clients, but their families, as well. My ideal client is one who has dealt with anxiety and/or depression throughout life. The clients who have tried therapy periodically but struggle to maintain a stable mood. Clients who are uncomfortable in most environments and seem to always be on edge. These clients often face social, professional, and family struggles because they are reactive, defensive, and sometimes impulsive in both language and actions.
