Available for weekend and weeknight sessions! Currently, I am specializing in relationship issues, self-esteem, and women’s issues. I have more than 8 years of experience working with anxiety, mood disorders, and complex trauma. My strong suits are empathy and my ability to really understand where someone is coming from, and I use that to develop a positive path forward. Rather than sticking to a particular method, I custom tailor my session to meet the unique needs of each individual. Earlier in my career, I was published in peer-reviewed journals for my research in Clinical Psychology.

Do you want to feel confident, at peace, trusting of yourself, and more connected in relationships, but feel stuck in some of this instead?: if I stop pushing myself so hard, I won’t be good enough; if I share my feelings or ask for what I need it'll be too much; I can't show the real me; I should be able to just handle this myself. Folks I work with are often seeking support with things underpinning or accompanying such feelings, including: anxiety, stress, negative thought loops, difficulty with self-esteem, trauma, challenges with boundary setting, and feeling disconnected.

Do you worry, overthink, feel anxious, have panic attacks, social anxiety, PTSD, or avoid certain situations because of anxiety/trauma? Your thoughts may be racing, spiraling, or making you feel like you’re experiencing distressing situations all over again. You may be left feeling overwhelmed, out of control, and not knowing how to cope. You may avoid people, isolate yourself, worry about others judging you, or feel anxious about relationships. Anxiety can sometimes consume your thoughts and make it hard to focus on anything else. At times, it can feel hard to function.

Do you feel not good enough, no matter what you do? You may be fed up with nitpicking yourself, second guessing yourself, or constantly trying to please others. You might not remember when things didn’t feel this way. But one thing is for sure: you’re ready for some relief. You’re ready to prioritize your needs for once. You’re ready to feel safe in your own skin. And most of all, you’re ready to form a deeper connection with yourself and others. I can help you discover who you are underneath the mask you have created, because therapy should be a place where you understand and embrace your honest self.

Do you struggle with maintaining focus, managing time, or staying organized? Are impulsive decisions, fluctuating energy levels, or inconsistent performance leaving you feeling frustrated or misunderstood? Living with ADHD can often bring unique challenges, including self-esteem issues that arise from misunderstood ADHD traits. Like an orchid, you possess a remarkable potential for growth and vibrancy when in the right environment; yet, when things aren't aligned, it might feel as though you're just barely getting by, struggling to tap into your true capabilities.

I am genuinely passionate about helping young women navigate early adulthood with all its challenges and complexities. Coping with anxiety, low self-esteem, and depression can often impact the pursuit of what you truly want in life—both individually and in relationships—bringing waves of despair and moments of discouragement that often feel overwhelming. These fears can be all too real and can leave you feeling lost and alone. I am dedicated to walking alongside you as you explore your emotions and feelings, discover your inner resilience, and take steps toward self-compassion and a greater sense of trust in who you are.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
